Seems to be very sensitive.
I was looking for a leak in a Chevrolet vehicle with two evaporators and R1234yf. I warmed up the unit before looking. The weather was sunny, warm, and just a light wind. I opened the driver’s door and put the probe near the accelerator pedal and it went full alert. I shut the door and went to the rear of the vehicle. Opened the rear glass. It put the probe near the rear quarter trim and it alerted again. I drove the vehicle and the AC was still cooling acceptably.I tried the same thing on another similar Chevrolet vehicle that has never had a refrigerant leak. It did the same thing when the probe was near the accelerator pedal.I also did the same check on another Chevrolet SUV that has never had a refrigerant leak, and nothing was found. While I was waiting for the unit to warm up outside the last vehicle, an ATV drove by and the unit briefly alerted on the exhaust fumes. It seems very sensitive, but apparently reacts to many things besides refrigerant.

Found my leaks
I could not find my leaks with UV dye and it was a pretty big leak. I found them in seconds with this tool. It is sensitive so it can be hard to tell exactly where the leak is, I used a hair dryer to blow out the area and then test again. I had a leak at a joint and also one of my AC gauge manifold quick connects had gone bad. Very nice tool.

Worth the Money
Saved me a lot of money and time! Had trouble tracing a r134 leak in my truck using a vacuum. This sniffer worked great.

Detects leaks
Used it crawling around an attic to find leaks in line set. Worked like a champ.

its Orange
I liked it since it actually worked. Not $300 like all the other compnaies.

Everything was expected, but screen partially frosted
The tool quickly found the source of the leak, which was the high side service port. The leak was slow enough not to be visible using the traditional soapy water method. The leak on my SUV's R-134a system leaked 10oz/year and this tool was able to quickly pick up on the source of the leak. Having to recharge the system every 12 months was annoying enough that I decided to buy this tool. After replacing the high side service port valve the leak was repaired. My only complaint about the product was having trouble reading the screen. I removed the plastic film screen protector and was surprised that there was a large matte blob on the screen making it difficult to read. Initially I thought it was adhesive, but it ended up being more similar to an acid etching of the surface. I first tried using soapy water to dissolve the "adhesive", then rubbing alcohol, then mineral spirits, but the blob remained.
