Kitchen Basics Original Chicken Bone Broth, 8.25 oz (Pack of 12)

I get sick frequently and these were great for times I needed a boost. Tastes much better than most bone broth. Yum!

I love this stuff. My grocery store discontinued it, but of course found it on Amazon. It is great for a quick gravey. Much better than using the concentrates or canned varriety.

I could not give this product 5 stars only because of its consistency after being refrigerated overnight. The best bone broth, with a good amount of collagen, will be the consistency of gelatin when properly chilled. A spoon should make a clear break in the surface of the broth as if scooping up a chunk of soft jello. I don't know if my picture captures it well enough; but this did gel. It was just more like runny jello than solid, soft jello. So, it has good properties; but it's not as dense as it could be for maximum benefits. That being said, taste is also extremely important to me. It can be difficult to make a good bone broth without it tasting like dead chicken bone. This actually tastes like broth that is used in good homemade chicken soup; which you can only get in the first round of cooking (re-using bones, after making the first round of broth, leads to a very cheap and poor-tasting product). I just added a little bit of sea salt for more flavor. I also like the convenience of it being pre-made and in individual servings that I can grab on the go. It gets cumbersome and expensive to try and keep up on preparing homemade broth; and the powders still take some prep work while also never tasting quite right. This allows for nearly all of the benefits of homemade broth; without the time consuming work involved in making it yourself. Shipping time is also fast, which allows me to purchase something and know that I will have it quickly. All-in-all, I would say this is definitely a good product; especially for the price. I would just like to see it thicker when cooled. And all-organic would be nice too!

My wife was trying out different bone broths for her diet, which got me to try these. For half of what she was paying I was able to get these to try out. She was skeptical at first, but when she tried them, really liked them. I like these warmed up a bit in the microwave. Tastes like the chicken broth you'd normally use in recipes, but with no salt flavor. So a little bland, which is a good thing. Tastes like weak chicken soup, I'm sure if you add some spices these would taste even better. These are great to add to daily snacking to get the nutrients of bone broths without any nasty tastes.

****UPDATE****UPDATE**** Not sure why my purchase shows Mirepoix and Herb flavor but that's not what my review is on. I purchased the chicken flavor. I've never tried any other flavor. I just ordered my second batch of the CHICKEN flavored bone broth. Since my first order, I thought I'd try some other brands from local stores. I'm hear to tell you - don't bother - they're disgusting! I purchased a ready-made and a powder you stir with hot water. They literally smelled like dried carcass. They smelled and tasted like an animal - gross gross gross. This Kitchen Basics brand is far superior. Tastes like regular broth and the price is way cheaper than what I paid in stores. This is my forever brand - done shopping around. I’d also like to add as I’ve gotten older (52) I notice constipation becomes an issue. I find if I drink one if these a day, he helps tremendously at keeping me regular. Additionalky, it helps stave off hunger if I’m close to mealtime. ******MY FIRST REVIEW BELOW****** Heard about bone broth powder but I'm not a huge smoothie drinker. I'm trying to cut down on my sugars, even natural ones from fruit, yogurt and health bars. I'll have a couple of hard-boiled eggs for lunch with a warm cup of this bone broth and it will keep my satiated for some time. I love the convenience of pouring this in a coffee cup and warming it up in the microwave for a minute. It's thicker than regular broth but don't think "thick" like it sounds - it's more dense. Where you can see the bottom of your cup with regular broth, you can't see it with this bone broth. So it's a bit heartier but not as salty which I like. In comparing the ingredients of this brand with others, I found this to be the most natural of the bone broths I researched, with less sodium as well. The smell is a bit off-putting for me but I enjoy the taste so it's a win. I also read that bone broth has healing properties. I am on a probiotic daily but noticed after the first 3 days of starting this, I had the runs so it's possible that's true. I have since felt great.

I love bone broth and this one is really good. It lasted a long time in storage and adds the right touch to many comfort foods. Perfect for use in place of salt , sodium or other salt containing ingredients.

Compré los caldos porque no ha habido de los que usualmente uso, y debo decir que me decepcionó bastante pues usé tres envases y ni así tuvo sabor mi platillo al que estoy acostumbrada. No lo compraría de nuevo.
