The book did not disappoint. Great perspective on Jesus' leadership role for the church today.

Loved it. Highly recommend for all to read. I think there are a lot of practical lessons in this book that face many churches across many denominations this day and age.

Great read!

This book has some good insights about church life and health and it brings forth those principles through a story. The story of one church's awakening to their lack of focus on Jesus and their lack of love for people. While the pastor is away on sabbatical, the leader of the elders has a couple of experiences which convince him that their church, which looks successful on the outside, is deeply troubled. The rest of the book explains the process of restoring the church to health. Through many trials and conversations renewal comes. The story is engaging and the principles are clear. In the end, the book is just a little too neat, too ideal. Everything works out great in the end. But real life is rarely neat and tidy and often there are unresolved things that are to be worked out. The book portrays changes over the course of months that normally takes years and sometimes never resolves. It is an entertaining and interesting book as long as readers don't expect things to go in their churches exactly like things go here.
