Love this game
Genuinely fun game with simple controls and a really pretty open world with good visuals. It's a refreshing break from the standard Pokémon games (I found the style took some getting used to), I've personally found it a great game and a good value for money. I've never had any bugs or glitches and if you're someone who enjoys things like shiny hunting I find they appear enough for it to feel rewarding but are still rare enough that it's a little challenging and feels good to find one. I thought the storyline was enjoyable and I was able to follow it pretty easily, even after completing the bulk of the story I found I still had lots to do, which I really appreciate in a game. There are lots of quests you can do and I find them to be generally really enjoyable, I also really like the controls and mechanics of this game compared to others, such as being able to interact with Pokémon in the open world and not having to engage in battle with every one, also being able to throw items and pokéballs without opening your bag. The controls are relatively different to other games and took some figuring out but the tutorial was really good and helped me get into it without too much confusion, I also really enjoy the ability to walk around and observe Pokémon while you're battling. I found it took me a long time to get bored when I sat down to play as the exploration aspect of the game felt really immersive and the landscapes seemed really nicely thought out. As a Pokémon lover I genuinely enjoyed this game and found it to be a really nice style change compared to the classics, its a cute, easy-but-not-too-easy game that I would totally recommend to anyone who's enjoyed the previous Pokémon games!

Great game. Step in the right direction!
This game is a vast improvement over the other Pokémon games released for Nintendo Switch. Battles are seamless as is Pokémon catching. You don't go in to a separate battle screen. Also now when your Pokémon learn moves they can instantly be re taught to have whatever combination of moves you want that is within that Pokemons moveset. Also there is an in depth crafting aspect. Your Pokémon can find items in the environment when you throw them towards a tree ornrock for instance and get items you can craft with other items to make others, for instance you need an apricorn from a tree and a tumble stone from a rock to craft a pokeball. No more pokemart like the old games even though there is a NPC who sells items. The battles as I mentioned are seamless. When you encounter and see a wild Pokémon you can just throw your desired Pokémon towards it and instantly start a battle without going into a seperate battle screen. The same applies when catching Pokémon. There's also lots of different tasks different people will ask you to do as well as the main story and another NPC will ask you to find and collect 108 wisps for a certain item they give you ;) I'm only 10 to 15 hours in and I personally are still in the story and I don't believe near finishing. It's fun and addictive to sometimes forget the story and catch and battle and craft. And also to complete the tasks each Pokémon has for the Pokédex to fill each page out. As this is Pokemons first ever Pokédex and you are discovering them for the first ever one. All in all I personally am really enjoying this game and I believe it's definitely the best Pokémon game so far for the Nintendo Switch.

Pokémon fun.
Brilliant game whether you’re new to Pokémon or have played for years (mind I really like Pokémon and have played it for years). It’s easy to pick up, learn and play. You’re not just battling trainers, you’re exploring, catching and more, which makes it feel more open and adventurous. I’ve spent hours just wandering around, finding new Pokémon and completing tasks. It’s fun without being too complicated, and you don’t need to know all the older games to enjoy it. This is a good choice. Plenty of content and a nice balance between action and exploration. Definitely worth a go.

Pokemon x Monster Hunter
As a fan of the mainline series, this was an interesting step for the Pokemon Company to take. For myself, I like the step that it took, however after playing the game to completion, I cannot see much in regards to replayablilty. The goal of the game is to complete the Pokedex to meet Arceus for the ultimate showdown. This is done by catching several pokemon, defeating some pokemon using certain moves or even watching pokemon use certain moves. However this becomes tedious to do after a while and with the story doing nothing more that complete the story quest in each section of the region, the pokedex seems to be a secondary task rather than the main. There are several side quests to do, but none truely stand out and some become more tedious than doing the pokedex itself, running around on a bear should be cool and fun but not when I'm focusing more trying to locate the area the blue echolocation radar appears to complete a fetch quest. The inclusion of new regional forms are unique and once again breath life into old mons, but the battle system hinders any chance for them to stand out from the basic pokemon. Alpha pokemon are meant to be challenging but after working out that the get stunned just like every other pokemon, they easily get caught like any other with a back throw. This plays more like a demo of what will come in future games, whilst also trying to keep its on identity. It was fun whilst it lasted, but no need for me to revisit.

Brilliant Shining Pokémon
I bought this for my son as he is a big Pokémon fan. However I thought I’d have a little go and now I can’t put it down, it’s amazing. Sure some of graphics are a little hazy with lazy texture mapping and objects etc pop into view without any warning. But let’s not forget that this is not BOTW it’s Pokémon and it’s a gorgeous looking game, it’s fun, but can also be challenging at times. Finding and then catching Pokémon that you’ve heard of is so much fun, when I found my first Pikachu I said to myself omg it’s a Pikachu and was hoping that it wouldn’t flee the scene before I’d caught it. Got to catch ‘em all. Just a pleasure to play. Amazon for some reason didn’t dispatch the game until 1 day after the release date, so obviously it arrived late. But the game is still brilliant.

Open world (non-linear) pokemon game
Really fun game. Gamefreak created something new and original compared to their main series games. This is a open world rpg pokemon game. The movements and character controls are similar to legend of zelda: breath of the wild.
