Pangea Audio Vulcan X Add-On Component Shelf (Black)

I had the Pangea Vulcan record player stand, which had a shelf for a receiver and a large shelf for records. I wanted to add another shelf for a component CD player. This product is solid and was easy to add to the record player stand. Be careful on your choice of color. Black and Carbon Fiber look similar, but black is not textured while Carbon Fiber is. Despite my mistake, the solid black additional shelf looks cool against my carbon fiber stand, so I'm keeping it.

Love our Pangea Audio Vulcan turn table shelf unit and this add on component shelf is exactly what we needed and perfectly designed to match the unit (as expected). This isn't a standalone shelf and must be used with an existing full unit. The shelf and supports are the same quality as the original unit and hold our heavy amp like a champ.

Opening up the box I found instructions for the four shelf version of this stand, not the one shelf version shown. The hardware had four threaded metal pins which when the shelf was put together according to the picture shown in the Amazon page penetrate the top of the shelf but have no end cap. In addition, the cross braces have no way to secure them to the bottom of the base legs and are therefore essentially decorative. To secure the top to the legs it was necessary to go out and buy four 5/16 end caps to screw onto them. I will say that once put together that shelf is pretty solid and looks good.

I needed one more shelf added to my four-shelf audio rack but I was concerned about the rack becoming unstable with the increased height. The Vulcan X add-on shelf added stability as well as the additional shelf. It was a breeze to install!
