Solid product
I have really pale, olive tone skin and tend toward fair-light neutral shades. The alabaster is actually a really great color for me. It’s a teeny bit warmer than a true neutral, but it helps make me look a little less pale without my face appearing to be a different color than the rest of my body. i’ve actually paled out even more recently, and I’m going back for the shell color for around the jaw line to blend better. While it is relatively matte, I still do get shiny in the afternoon, but that could be due to my other face products and not using powder. It is super lightweight, just a little bit heavier than a BB cream, and about medium coverage. It won’t cover my dark circles on its own but takes care of the rest of my face and I just add some Almay concealer for my circles. I agree with other reviews that price and utility wise, I do like it better than several more expensive brands, especially for daily wear. I have something separate and much thicker (and less comfortable) for the rare times I need full coverage.

Good for sensitive skin touch-ups
Even just testing the product on a few small blemishes, I realized that a little goes a long way! Neutrogena makes wonderful products for sensitive skin, and I found that this is no exception. Also great to toss in a bag for touch-ups due to the size.

Not heavy and blends well
No strong smell, and corrects discoloration well. I use with a lighter shade to contour my face in a more subtle way than powder contouring. I apply with a kabuki brush and buff it in. It is a bit sticky initially, but that is easily resolved by blotting excess gently with a tissue. Then finishing with a finishing powder. I have mature skin for reference.

Dry and cakey, needs moisture added to glid on.
This comes out liquid but goes on pretty dry and cakey (even with a wet sponge), so I mix the foundation with a bit of Ponds Rejuveness so it glides on, and dab on a bit of powder. It's okay, but I'm not sure I'll buy it again.

Better than “high-end” CC creams at Sephora
Quite honestly, this CC cream is great for oily-combo skin like mine. I’ve been using the expensive “IT Cosmetics CC Matte Cream” from Sephora for years but the product was recently reformulated into a total useless garbage. So I started looking for a new matte CC cream for my acne-prone, combo skin. I’ve tried many other CC creams at Sephora and none of them had the consistency and coverage I was looking for. So then, completely given up, I just went to my local CVS store and got this Neutrogena CC cream to try. To my surprise, it felt great on my skin and had exactly the consistency I was looking for: good coverage without feeling heavy. It looks very natural and doesn’t cake up. Stays on my face pretty much all day. It also does not break me out. Best of all - it costs 1/3 of the price of all the mediocre CC creams at Sephora. Since my CVS has only a limited shade range for this cream, I ordered the Alabaster 1.5 shade on Amazon. It matches my cool-toned fair-light skin color perfectly. So heed my advice ladies: If you have difficult, acne-prone, combo skin … forget about wasting your money at Sephora. Get this!

Turns skintone orange
I found the texture and coverage agreeable but it made my face orange. I have a fair complexion yet this product is not a good choice for me. I wear fair, fairly light as well as porcelain liquid makeup tones.
