I installed this on my 2023 Hyundai Venue on the hood and used a comet antenna. The dual band radio gets decent comms for this inexpensive mount. Don't skimp on the antenna but this mount is fine.

I did what I call an Australian mount (mounted it to the front of my grille guard bumper tube) for my Ham radio antenna. It worked absolutely perfectly, the angle allowed me to easily route the wires from the front of a Chevy Colorado to the interior.I was not able to locate one with the end that screws off, so be aware you may need to cut the PL-259 off and install a new one once the cable has been wired into the truck. Otherwise you are going to need a large hole to run the PL-259 end into the cab of your vehicle. Would recommend.Con:The PL-259 connector is not the type that unscrews for running the cable through cabs, walls etc .. requires a large enough hole to get the entire connector through or cutting off the factory connector.
