Difficult to install but not impossible
Yes it was difficult to install but that was the way the fridge was designed. This particular icemaker has a Freon coil that must be thoroughly defrosted to allow it to move. Mine was frozen even into the internal insulation of the back interior of the fridge so it had to be carefully defrosted and took several hours to defrost. Once defrosted the assembly was a bit difficult to install but that was part of the original fridge design. Working great so far after 1 month installation.

There is one important step you need to know
If you don't find a good video telling how to remove the old one you will FAIL! You must put the icemaker into "Forced Defrost" Mode or leave the refrigerator off for a while, or a cooling coil inside the icemake will be frozen in place. If you break or puncture that cooling coil, buy a new refrigerator. It is very awkward to remove or install because of the tight area you have to work with. It took about 45 minutes total including five minutes "Forced Defrost" and removing and installing. When done it took about 7 hours to cool down enough to produce ice. Overall very, very happy.

It works like the original did.
Fit like the original and this one works. Just google replacement and they’re plenty of videos showing how to remove and reinstall. Don’t forget to seal the ice maker cabinet to the refrigerator cabinet.

Samsung Icemakers suck!
Third icemaker in Samsung French door fridge. Made all the suggested engineering changes and end result is intermittent ice. So, bought ice maker to supplement need. This fridge is good with a subpar icemaker.

Works good
Original Samsung ice maker died after 5 years so bought this to replace it, went ahead and bought the drip kit and sealed the gaps in the ice box as was suggested, everything is working good now. The entire job took about an hour, pretty easy, just make sure to defrost before attempting to remove the old one, I used my wife's hair dryer and it was defrosted in no time.
