Got these plates on sale for around $1 per lb, which is pretty good for a rubber bumper plate so my expectations where not super high. Received the plates faster than I anticipated and all arrived in one delivery (although two separate boxes). Boxes were a little beat up but product was fine. I have already used them several times and so far they seem to be of good enough quality that they will last for years.As far as drawbacks/cons, if you are used to using rubber coated plates with a "handle" integrated into them these plates (at least the 45 lbs anyway) are a bit cumbersome. Even after whipping off the thin film of oil that seemed to coat them all, loading the barbell for squats took a little bit more effort than Im used to as the plates are smooth and somewhat slippery. The heavy plates (25lb+) are quite thick (as they should be) but the 10Lbs is comparatively very thin and I would hesitate to drop these with any serious force.

This is a great economical set of bumper plates; you're not going to find a better price for colored bumpers anywhere. The bushings seem secure and the plates have a good bounce to them, so you know that they're absorbing some of the force of impact, as they should.They aren't perfect, though. There are some cosmetic issues. You can see from the pics I put up there is some flashing on a few of the plates and beveling in some areas of one that looks like it was gouged slightly to remove flashing, or not enough rubber was injected into the mold. It's a negligible amount that won't affect the weight or balance in any discernable way. The plates that look orange on the site look quite a bit more pink to me IRL and there is also a small bit of discoloration on one of the plates. When removing then from their plastic, there is a slight odor that you'll be familiar with if you've ever been around newly processed rubber. There is also a thin oily coating on the plates when you take them out. None of these are real problems, though. The odor will eventually disappate, the oil comes off easily with a shop towel, the flashing will probably fall off on it's own from use or can easily be removed with careful use of a carving knife or small pair of scissors. I also don't care that a couple of the plates look kind of pink. It's still a five star set.The only caveat I will leave you with is this: this is a new purchase for me. I can't make any comment on the long-term durability of them. If they do have problems, I'll post an update. Until then, I wholly recommend getting them.
