Excellent sport watch
Excellent sports watch. It has all the basic features I need for walking, running, cycling, and gym workout. The Garmin Connect app is very good for reviewing your stats over time, and the Connect IQ app allows you to alter watch faces. The watch and app combination is very good for motivating you to do more. Highly recommended.

Brilliant - I love this watch
I couldn’t be happier with this product. It’s been a part of every day for the last three months. Having gotten back into training and physical fitness, this watch has been brilliant. It really keeps me motivated and gives me some good insights into watch I’m doing. Garmin app works brilliantly and syncs data quickly. It also connects to other fitness apps I’m using so I can collate and see my data together. The watch itself is compact and easy to use. You really can’t go too far wrong if you’re looking for something to track steps, sleep, heart rate, calories and your exercise whether that be running, treadmill, swimming etc. I charge this once a week and set recordings for events lately at a minimum for 5 days for week. For me this was a good priced smart watch for the functions. I would’ve liked a resistance/weight training recording option but I choose other for this. For my first smart watch this has been a winner. I will definitely go for a higher ranged garmin product in a few years but for now this is a very good starting point. It’s brilliant. The only thing which I would say, is I’m not sure how accurate the sleep recording is. On a couple of occasions I’ve noticed that I’m asleep according the watch data, when in fact I have been awake. Overall, if you’re looking for a starter fitness watch or buying your first, I’d recommend this to you.

Perfect fitness watch
The Garmin Forerunner 55 is an excellent fitness watch, especially for active users who want reliable tracking and easy smartphone connectivity. It delivers accurate GPS performance, great battery life, and a range of features that make it a solid choice for sports enthusiasts. My son, who is passionate about swimming and sports, loves using this watch to track his activity. It provides detailed insights into workouts, heart rate, and performance metrics, helping him stay on top of his training. The lightweight design makes it comfortable to wear all day, and the interface is intuitive, making it easy to access stats and notifications. Syncing with his iPhone works seamlessly, allowing him to review progress, set goals, and stay motivated. For anyone looking for a well-rounded GPS watch that balances performance, ease of use, and smart features, the Forerunner 55 is a fantastic option. It’s durable, dependable, and a great tool for anyone serious about staying active.

Great entry-level introduction to Garmin trackers
I used this for a few weeks to assess: * Did I need a fitness tracker and would I use it? * Would I get much use out of the mobile app, and would I like it? * Would using this improve my health? I can say for definite, yes on all counts. The main thing I got it for though was to track my cycling, as I have a new mountainbike that I wanted to use to get fitter, and I've used that, but Garmin offer a freebie coaching programme which can get you from couch to 5k, or improve your running if you're a runner already, or to train you for a 10k race or half marathon etc. I'm emphatically not a runner - I've had asthma most of my life & I've always avoided running, but I thought "Why not" and started the programme. I'm now on Week 3 of the couch to 5K programme, and I've just jogged 2.5k to the shops and back & I'm not out of breath. This is really good. However, I noticed a few things about the Forerunner 55: 1 - the watch's screen is *tiny*. It's a small area within a small watch face, and it's not very bright or sharp. As a 51 year old man I find myself constantly having to peer over my glasses at it. 2 - it lacks some features found in the more high-end watches, like SpOx (blood oxygen). Small things, I know, but I got this watch to see if Garmin was for me. It is, and I've upgraded to a Garmin Venu 2 45mm, and given the Forerunner 55 to my wife, who's really enjoying using it. What's lacking on the mobile app: there's no widgets for the phone. Previously I was using Google Fit, and Garmin Connect doesn't seem to sync with that despite connecting my Google account to my Garmin account. These are things I hope Garmin fixes in the future - interoperability between fitness apps on the same phone is a big deal, and it's these small annoyances that lead me to give it 4 rather than 5 stars overall.

Easy to use and very budget friendly watch. I bought it to record tracks so I can see them on the map later. Now I am using it to reach my sleep, body battery, and stress levels. There are of course a lot of better options out there but far more expensive. I am very happy. One thing is that the strap could be a little bit longer.
