Great value soft light
I've been using the Light Dome SE for about 6 months now and can report back that I am pretty impressed with it.Having come from a stills background, largely used to using Profoto modifiers, I've been pleasantly surprised at the quality of light coming from the Light Dome SE. Light comes out soft, without the kind of specularity you often get with cheaper mods. It's really controllable too, the inclusion of a grid is a very nice touch.Assembly is as expected with a tent-style dome, it requires a bit of energy, but once you have done it a few times, it's fairly straightforward. All materials seem fairly robust (really solid speedring) apart from the bag itself whose pockets seem a little flimsy. But that said, I've not had any rips or issues with it so far. I did experience one supporting rod snap during normal assembly, but the customer service from the seller here on Amazon was brilliant - they sorted me out with replacement rods quickly and efficiently.I'd recommend fitting the dome to the light on a stand and using gravity to help stick the front diffusion panels on evenly. All in all, this is great value for money, I'd highly recommend.

Quality brand
If you know about lighting you know that Aputure is one of the best for low end light shaping. That’s not to say the quality is low end, it’s probably the opposite. Competition is fierce and these Chinese companies are giving us great tools capable of professional results in the right hands. I use this for my headshot photography work and the results are great. Build quality is excellent too. Recommended

A quality softbox made of quality materials
This Apeture softbox is fantastic, especially if you don't have a lot of space in your room. It's made of high-quality materials and diffuses the light perfectly.

Not the easiest to work with
This softbox gives a good quality of light and feels well made enough when it’s built. But putting this thing together is a right pain, and taking it apart again is even worse. If you use it in a studio or rarely pack it down then you’ll be fine, but for regular use on the road the poorly thought out assembly method will wear a bit thin.

Awesome
Built to last, simple to set up but physically challenging...great value.

Helps to Provide beautiful lighting for great portraits and other similar projects
This is a great soft box that when coupled with a good strobe or speedlite, it provides beautiful lighting for great photos. I used it with the west coast FJ400 and it was perfect. The only downside is the assembly… it isn’t the easiest of boxes to setup and requires a level of patients, but once done it is fab. If you have the space to leave it setup all the time then this is a great option

Only good for a permanent studio
Great quality but a pain to set-up and fold - I ended up breaking one the sticks but it comes with a couple spares. Can only recommend if you have a permanent studio where you do not have to set it up each time you want to use it, if not may I suggest you look at a lantern soft box? they are much faster to set-up and I also like their soft light - after trying lanterns I am not going to use anything else
