Dopro Loaded Guitar Pickguard with Wilkinson Pickups Prewired ST Pickguard for FD Strat Stratocaster Made In USA/Mexico Black 3Ply

I have an old frankinstrat bitza that I tinker with, which was originally a Chinese no-name plank that was unplayable when new by it's school girl owner, which is why they car booted it. I set it up as best as I could , changing stuff as I went. Finally, some years on it was more new than old bits and suffering from a de-laminating plate on top, and miscellaneous electrical miseries down below, which I couldn't be bothered with fixing any more. so I went the loaded guard route, which was an easy change over. I'd have liked to see Alnicos in the pickups, but for the money, ceramic is what I expected, and what I got. Still they sound quite adequate, not a patch on my old '62 Strat, but good enough.

Lovely sounding Wilkinson pick ups, very sweet, clean vintage tone, however the whole package is slightly spoiled by cheap manufacturing defects - e.g. the volume knob fouls the bridge pick up adjusting screw and the bridge tone pot is a bit scratchy. For the price I’d probably try them again though.
