Contrary to the photo on the page, you only receive the tool and nothing else. You will need to provide your own driver. So, you really cannot use the tool straight out of the box. Once fitted with a 1/4" hex driver, it works just okay. Unlike other Rem 700 bolt disassembly tools, it can easily slip off of the firing pin detent and you have to start over to unscrew the firing pin assembly. You are better off using the cord and dime method actually.

I keep one of these in my pack for PRS matches, as well as keeping one at my workbench. Faster and easier to use than screw type striker compressors, and more reliable than using a bootlace or paracord.

I'm OCD and I like to ensure my rounds chamber prior to a match, that said I'd prefer to do it in the loading room. To ensure no ND in the house I always remove the firing pin. This tool makes bolt disassembly so much easier then the old school way of using the shoe lace.

Does the job well with or without a extension for leverage. Little expensive but gets the job done.
