Toyota dealership could only get the ignition part of the key to work. Key will unlock door manually and start car...nothing else.

Called a mobile locksmith and he came to my house to cut and program it for my Toyota Camry 2016 within in minutes. The key works perfect.

This remote looks & functions like the Toyota original remote. Purchased this remote after one of the 2 original remotes was lost. I was able to program the remote and chipped key to work on my daughters 2016 Camry SE with my Autel MK808 TS scan tool. After programing I had Ace Hardware cut the key for under $5. Local locksmiths wanted a couple of hundreds of dollars to do this. Based on past experience Toyota dealers would have wanted over $400 for a replacement key.

You will need a locksmith to cut it and then program it. Programming has two parts - the transponder and the remote. The transponder allows the ignition to stay on after the key starts it. The second part is the remote that unlocks and locks the doors. Just make sure you get that clarified from the locksmith. If you don't get the transponder programmed right - the car will stall / shut off despite being able to start.

The Locksmith couldn't program the Security until he tried it with the buttons facing in (not the normal way). So, if your Locksmith has problems trying to program the Security, tell him to turn the key around (buttons facing in towards the front of the car) and try it again.
