Keyboard Keycaps Keys Cap US Set Replacement for MacBook Pro A1706 A1707 2016 2017 Year 13" 15" Full Keycap with Removal Tool

I'm happy with this purchase. I had concerns about the keyboard early on, knowing that Apple’s butterfly keys have had issues in the past. Fortunately, mine has performed well from day one. When my Command key started to loosen, I worried a full keyboard replacement might be needed—which I’ve heard can be a challenge, thanks to glue and rivets. But when I received this product, I pulled off the Command key cap, watched a YouTube video on how to remove and replace it, popped the cap back in place, and tested it. All good now—yay!

These replacement keys were just what I needed. They were affordable easy to install and look just like the other keys in my Mac. Not sure how long they will last but for the money can’t beat them. I would also recommend watch the install video on YouTube.

Amazon product, they shipped it super fast and it is the EXACT keys. I was able to replace all of the old shiny keys on my Mac with these and they look brand new. I hope that these keys will hold up a good while!

Arrived as promised. Packaged well: piece of cardboard with each hinge clip for each key laid out and attached as they would be installed on a keyboard (i.e., the "A" key adhered to the cardboard "keyboard" where it would be located on an actual keyboard (i.e. between "caps lock" key and "S" key).Note: the package does not come with any instructions on installing the key hinges, but I did not expect that. I used a video on Youtube to walk me through installation - which is very important because, at first glance of existing, broken hinges, you often cannot determine what part of the original hinge is broken (lots of little hinge pins on each key hinge part). Please find and study one of those videos online before beginning (please watch it all the way to the end!).Installation of a hinge involves popping off the existing key cover. It is relatively easy with provided tool BUT it must be done per those videos I mentioned - it is not just a pop off/pop on installation of a key cover. It requires SNAPPING the key cover off from the top of the key and then lifting off the key cover by pulling toward the top of the keyboard - not lifting straight up vertically.Again, not too hard but be aware you will be, in effect, "peeling back/popping off" the key cap from the key hinge from top-to-bottom.Also, (based on my failed first attempt) be aware of how you set the new key hinge back onto the underlying key area. A key cap attaches to the hinge by placing the "hooks" on the bottom of the key cap onto the larger, flatter pins at the bottom of a key hinge and then snapping the top of the key cap onto the smaller, round bars at the top of the key hinge. When arranged properly, the key cap will simply snap in and you're good to go.

The keys on the a1990 MacBook wear and get glossy and then the white undercoating starts to show. I watched the video took my time. Checked the back of each key to make sure I am installing them right and everything looks as it should now. This also gave me the opportunity to get the ripped membrane layer on the space bar(must’ve been replaced once) sitting over the switch as it should and now my spacebar functions right for the first time!

The keys fit well but the keyprints are not always aligned. Especially in the arrow keys the alignment is comically off.The instructions regarding lifting standard keys is fine, but inadequate to lift the longer keys. I broke the hinges for my spacebar, tab, delete, and return since the instructions did not crucially state to press down on the key while attempting to detach it, which is unintuitive. This is going to be a much more expensive fix now and this was not worth the risk.

These look and function exactly like the original key caps. Just be sure to get the ones that are for your specific model of Macbook. There's probably some easy way to figure out the model, but I've always had trouble with it.
