What you need to make brown bread
After years of trying to replicate in the US the brown bread I knew from an Irish childhood, I finally broke down and started ordering this flour. It is completely successful. Note! The cooking show America's Test Kitchen/Cook's Illustrated, validates my choice. They searched for an appropriate flour in the United States and came up with nothing. They recommended buying the Odlums flour for authentic taste and texture.

Best whole wheat flour I’ve ever used.
This is the best whole wheat flour I have ever used. The first time I bought it was to make ballymaloe Irish brown bread. I never went back to regular whole wheat flour after that. The texture of coarse whole wheat gives an interesting texture to all breads. It is outrageously expensive to get here in the US but it is well worth it for superior baked goods. It arrived quickly and the bag was intact.

Flour is low in gluten, perfect for Irish brown bread
There’s nothing like Irish brown bread, but you need wholemeal flour from Ireland, made with European soft wheat. It’s more expensive than regular whole wheat flour here in the U.S. but not too bad, and you’ll get four loaves out of each bag. Love that it’s now available stateside.

Package arrived in 2 days on time, inside the flour bag was wrapped in plastic to help protect it. Had a one year best by date. Couldn't have asked for anything else except a cheaper price like everything else. I will order again from this supplier when I need more.

Perfect texture
This flour is the perfect texture for the Irish brown bread I discovered I couldn't get enough of on a recent trip to Ireland. So many other good recipes I want to try, using this flour.

Love this flour but bugs!
I love this flour which I use for brown bread, but I find a lot of small live crawling bugs in it! I don’t know if that means it came with larvae, I don’t think it’s from my cabinet since my other flours do not seem to have bugs? Other reviews don’t mention it, did I just get a bad batch? Are other flours irradiated maybe? I hate to toss it out since the flour so expensive so basically I’ve just been picking them out with a teaspoon….

Makes wonderful bread and dinner rolls.
Odlum's flour is the best. My family just loves it. They can't wait till I make more bread or dinner rolls. It disappears fast. Five star for sure. Why can't we make this in America?

We LOVE this stuff
It's impossible to get true extra course ground flour in the US, unless you mill your own, and this was a wonderful addition to my weekly loafs. Unfortunately, I see that since purchasing the price more than doubled and then the product completely disappeared from Amazon. Disappointing but at least I know the product exists and I can look for it elsewhere.
