Excellent Streaming Camera
The Mevo Start is a great camera for live streaming or for recording. It is good for those getting started in streaming. It is reasonably priced and has a lot of great features. You can live stream to most any service. The camera can be connected via Wi-Fi or with Ethernet (requires a separate adapter). Wi-Fi works well if you have good access points and signals. Streaming quality will depend on your upload speeds. Recording are saved directly to the camera but you will need get a micro-SD card as it does not come with one, but those are so affordable. You will need an Android or iOS tablet or phone to work with the camera. There is an app that controls and configures the camera. There is a built in microphone that works well. You can also alternatively connect an external sound source to the Aux 3.5 mm jack. It is configurable for Mic level input or Line level input (like sound board). There are level controls for audio within the app. It fits on most any tripod (standard 1/4 screw). I found battery life to be 4-5 hours which should be good in most cases. There is a USB-C connector on the camera that can be used for external power or ethernet adapter. Indicator LED on the front of the camera tells you the connection status and I believe can also act as a Tally light. One of the nice features is digital zoom. You can view what the camera sees from within the app. The app also lets you zoom the camera view in and out. You can also move a zoomed box around with the full field of the camera, so it almost like having PTZ. The video feed is quite good and there are settings for things like low lighting and outdoor. Camera looks and feels well built. There is no lens cover so you might want to get a case for it. The camera can also be configured as an NDI source and it works great with OBS, zoom and all. Good starter and can still be used in more advanced setups (like OBS). Keep in mind that the app can only be used with one camera at a time (you can move back and forth between cameras). A multi-cam app is being developed and is currently in Beta at this time.

Multipurpose Beneficial
I am a podcaster, Youtuber, Coach and Event coordinator. I actually bought this on a gut instinct preparing for a conference I was streaming. Pro's Wifi Capable adds versatility with a strong wifi network Can stream straight from "the right" mobile devices (more in cons) Wifi Webcam Mode 1080p OnBoard Recording Possible Mobile control of ISO, Color Temp and other Camera adjustments Con's Older devices not all compatible NOT fully compatible with the M1 Chip (wired webcam mode, no) Cannot adjust "Camera Settings" like ISO, White balance and such in Webcam mode Not 4K I stream on multiple platforms and this will certainly NOT replace my normal DSLR style camera. I. have used the wireless webcam mode and I hate that I can't adjust the white balance without connecting to my phone first, adjusting it, breaking the connection then reconnecting it to my computer. I change my lighting a lot depending on the shoot. However, this was a life saver when I was multi streaming an event. I just needed something with decent quality as a constant feed and it worked spectacularly in wireless webcam mode back to my computer. Understand, this is a decent "webcam" not the best but decent. It is not a replacement if you use DSLR's but for what it was created for which is event streaming or multi cam "set studio" (not changing often it is a great camera especially in use with a couple other MEVO SMART cams. One note, I would like to see them upgraded to be more computable with other softwares and platforms. If you don't want to use their native app for streaming with them, you are going to have to get creative because they are not friendly to any other software but theirs. Thus I used wireless webcam mode to bypass this short coming.

Love this simple to use camera for streaming video!
The only drawback to the MEVO may be the price. I have a daughter that plays softball and I’m the Gamechanger dad. With a multitude of mounts available it’s easy to locate, it links right up to my iPhone 13 Pro Max easily, functions perfectly, and it feels durable and like a good quality product. Compatible with everything I’ve tried with it. Battery life lets me record about 5-6 hours with a full charge but I use a small battery pack with it. It lasts an entire tournament worth of games. I’d buy it again tomorrow!

Decent baseball game camera.
We are not very techy people, but we figured out how to get going with this camera the first game. We’ve used it a full season in many weather conditions, and it’s done the job. The microphone is pretty good, so just caution your vocal fans sitting nearby they will be heard! Live-streaming with GameChanger was easy, and it does a decent job clipping plays for athletes/coaches to get their specific highlights. We used a magnetic fence mount (sold separately) and an all weather battery pack (sold separately) in our set up. The internal battery in the camera lasts a full game so far, but in colder conditions it drains faster. We just hooked the camera up to the battery pack for the second game in the double header, and was good to go. WiFi needs to be close by to livestream, so plan to sit near the camera, or we drop the iPhone on WiFi in the camera’s storage bag and clip it on the camera mount to allow us to walk farther away. Have fun!

Great little camera, but beware of a few glitches
While the introductory price on this was announced as $299, once it was released it was selling for $399. Pretty pricy, but it works very well as a wireless camera, though $399 is a steep price. The control app on the phone works very well and the picture quality is excellent, unless you zoom in 3x right at the edge of the picture. In my case I can see lens distortion on one side of the lens. I've never run out of battery and often leave in running for 3+ hours. We use it for outdoor worship services and feed the audio from the outdoor mixer directly into the camera. We set the camera on NDI mode and feed it into OBS Studio on a computer in the building, separated from the outdoor service, where we produce the program. Audio and Video remain in sync and audio quality is good. The camera will automatically adapt to mic level or line level input on the input jack. To use in NDI mode with OBS you can install the free NDI Tools package that is available on the web or a driver just for OBS that can find NDI sources. The NDI Tools package has a side effect that you can make the NDI source appear as a webcam and use it with programs like zoom. One thing that I do NOT like: to use the titling overlay feature, you need to have a Vimeo Premium Subscription which is very expensive if you don't want to use Vimeo. In speaking with support they acknowledged this, but said that was a condition of the deal when Mevo separated from Vimeo. So we use OBS for overlay titling instead. Too bad...you should not have to pay $20/month more for titling after you pay $399 for the camera!

Solved my audio issues
I have had the 3-pack Mevo Start cameras for about 9 months. I use them for teaching piano/voice via Zoom. Previously, I had a lot of audio issues and tried a streaming mixer and multiple types/brands of microphones with a high-end Clavinova digital piano with line-in connection to my laptop. Now, my students all pick the audio from the Mevo Start as their preferred sound. (Audio input sources can be selected on Zoom. I tried different configurations of microphones and connections; students always chose the Mevo audio.) My Blue Yeticaster USB and Shure SM7B XLR mics provide good vocal sound, but you have to physically stay close to the mic. As a teacher, I am moving around at the piano; the Mevo picks up my vocal audio as well as the piano audio without limiting my movement. Even with "room noise" (because I'm not in a studio--no sound proofing), the Mevo collects good audio. Literally, YEARS of trial and error and frustration ended when I finally invested in these cameras. I wanted the 3-pack so that I could show different angles of my hands at the piano, which my students really appreciate. Lack of USB ports on my computer was a challenge. I learned that a cheap USB hub creates a buzz in the audio. The solution was expensive--but effective. The StarTech 10-port 3.0 Hub 5Gbps supports the connection of multiple USB devices without messing up the audio. (The necessary power cables are sold separately.) With 10 ports, I can connect anything I want. Mevo can be used WITHOUT connecting via USB; I'm just not utilizing the other methods. The quality of the Mevo camera image is great--a dramatic improvement from my laptop's webcam. lol The cameras are "managed" via an app on my phone (Android.) Since I have them connected to my laptop (PC not Mac) for Zoom, I would prefer that there was a way to edit the settings on my computer; but there isn't--yet. The settings in the app are extensive. You can adjust sooooo many things. The only small drawback in image quality that I have found is for very close up viewing of sheet music/words on paper; the staff lines and music notes get a little blurry when I am just a few inches from the camera. They are still legible, just not crisp. I realize that these cameras are typically for much larger settings, like zooming in to see players in sports. Everything in larger shots is very clear. The auto settings on the cameras even improve my poor lighting! I have 2 of the cameras attached to mic stands. I love that they can be screwed on securely. The third one fits into a cell phone holder on a flex neck so that I can easily adjust it for different angles. They are lightweight. I only use them inside, while connected to power, so I don't know about battery life. I have contacted customer support a couple of times and received prompt replies and solutions to my questions. I would definitely purchase these again.

Can't stream from hot spot and no phone support
Maybe this camera is good but for us it would never work. We've used a GoPro 8 to stream my son's baseball games for about a year. Over 100 games in that time so I'm familiar with streaming over hotspot with my phone. I bought this because we had seen some other parents use it and the picture quality was better so we decided to try it. We worked for over a week trying to get it to connect to hotspot and stream on our phones with no luck. I searched YouTube with no luck either. Got on message boards and everyone seemed to have issues and had to find a work around. Especially those using Android. I got answers ranging from toggle the Bluetooth on and off and hopefully it will eventually connect to, put my phone in airplane mode and turn things on one by one. None of which helped. I went back and forth on email with someone at Mevo customer support who basically just referred me back to the help pages on Mevos website. When I told him I had tried everything on there several times, he just said to return or exchange it. I exchanged it and still had the same issue. I emailed him one last time to see if I could talk to someone on the phone. Maybe I was missing something obvious and they could walk me through it. He then proceeds to tell me that they don't offer phone support but they are aware of an Android bug that he hadn't bothered to tell me about in our previous back and forth. At this point I decided just return it and go back to GoPro. At least they have decent support if you have issues.
