What size for a full grown bearded dragon?

I got the XL for my full grown Beardie, but the hole isn't very large, so it doesn't allow him to go inside the cave which was the point. But, if the hole was bigger, he would be able to fit his whole body in it for sure.It is made of a sort of plastic material, so my fiance is going to try to cut the hole bigger so he can fit into it. But, he loves basking on top of it. It provides a much flatter surface for basking than most.

What size is your gecko? Mine is 5.5'' long and the small is fine, though I bought a medium as well for when he grows larger.

Medium is a good size, unless you're planning on getting a giant gecko then go large. But I have 2 -1.5 y/o and they do fine each having their own medium sized cave. Also keep in mind that leopard geckos feel safer in smaller places... so you don't want to go to big if it's not needed.

No. The opening is about 4 inches high by 5 inches wide. The inside would be plenty large though. If you wanted to go through the hassle of cutting a bigger opening then this could work but I would suggest you get a half log or something like that.
