iRig Blueboard Wireless Floor Controller for iOS and Mac

I have just received mine and I LOVED IT! It does what it was intended. I use it mostly for switching my presets in JamUp Pro. It is important to mention that there IS a lack of instructions from IK in order to know how to use the board (in my case, I had to look into youtube), but the Blueboard works just great. A -free- app from IK must be downloaded first, so the Blueboard can communicate with another apps through MIDI, this app must be launched first and recognize the pedal, and then you can open another app. First I was having some issues to communicate with the JamUp, I ended up closing both apps (JamUp and pedal app) and after that, all went well. The blueboard has two different modes that can be set in the pedal app: - PROGRAM CHANGE MODE, that can switch between your A/B/C/D presets (there is no need on programming something, as easy as "plug and play") - CONTROL CHANGE MODE, in this mode the buttons are completely programmable for control changes, like turn on/off specifically effects. This allows maximum flexibility, but you have to take your time to program each button to do what you want them to do. Bank switching is possible, just activate this option in the pedal app and the A or B button must be hold pressed like 2 sec and the bank is changed. You DO NOT feel like a "click" when pressing the buttons, so be sure you pressed it. It needs 4 AAA batteries (included). It's super light since it made out of plastic, but feels very stiff... however time will tell. Hope this helps!

IK do not appear to have really wrung the bugs out of this. Looks like the kind of product they throw over the wall as a loss leader to sell software licensing to Amplitube, which is like trying to play guitar while watching the shopping channel, but with more pixels. I could put up with the cheap plastic construction. I could put up with the need for an app just to use BLE instead of finding a way to run natively. But every time my computer sleeps with the app open, it crashes the BLE stack and it when the machine wakes up again, no amount of app restarting or pedal power cycling gets it connected again. Gotta reboot to hook it back up. Every time. Worked fine with Mainstage once I got it working, but I'm returning it and buying a Logidy UMI3. Which I will connect over USB. Because that works.

I use this almost every day! This is the best for what I use it for. It does everything and more. The greatest part is it is Bluetooth, no wires needed, except it has two ports for a volume or wa pedal that does need wires. It supports irig so if you have this is a great accessory to add to what you already have. The cost ain’t bad and you won’t go wrong !

Fairly sturdy and great battery life. I use this in conjunction with the positive grid Bias FX Universal ipad app and it works great. I've used it with other apps as well with great results. The thing I love about this is that it is light weight, so mobility is great. I am mainly a singer in my band but from time to time I have to play rhythm or lead guitar and this pedal is easy to kick off to the side when finished. I'm still using the original batteries it came with and I've been using it every weekend since I bought it a couple months ago. I use it in program mode and the only gripe would be that in the CC mode the lights latch on even when you hit a different button.

I use this with an iRig HD 2 and AmpliTube 4 with an iPad Pro and iPhone 7+. This is truly a fun addition to my iRig HD 2, the combination makes a perfect mobile studio or practice/live rig. I primarily use this at home to practice but have taken it to the studio, plugged into the PA and jammed with boys, works great. The only thing I would change is the buttons. They are very soft and do not offer any feedback, other then the visual of the light changing, when the button is engaged. I am, such as the majority of guitar players, use to the on off feel of a metal button from either stomp boxes or your amps channel switcher. These soft buttons are not that but they engage and perform the switching of presets, on off of stomp boxes, loop sessions with ease. For the price tag I think they could have made it with metal switches but it does the job its intended to do. The batteries are holding up well. I use this nearly everyday. With that being said I am still very happy with my purchase. This is a great addition to any iRig setup.

The irig blue board is a Swiss Army knife. With the blue board app you are able to configure it to work in a variety of ways with Mac or iPad. The ability to add 2 expression peddles only makes it better. You can have a whole virtual guitar rig which I have done several times. I mainly use it to control apps that I play my EWI with and it is a workhorse and stable in construction. I’m also using the same batteries from probably 2 years ago.

A bit overpriced, its value is no more than €60. Contrary to normal pedals, it does not provide any noticeable feedback when you press a button. Of course the light of the button changes, but that is of little use as the button is covered by ones shoe. Very poor integration with Amplitube 5

Benutzung =========== Ich war zu erst etwas skeptisch über den Einsatzbereich des Boards. Zu aller erst sollte man wissen: Dieses Produkt ist NICHT! für den PC betrieb. Schade, aber das wußte ich ja schon vorab. Ob diese Funktionalität nachgeliefert werden wird bleibt offen. Fakt ist, das seit kurzem ein Dev Kit veröffentlicht worden ist, so das Entwickler das Board in Ihre Anwendungen integrieren können. Ob dies auch für PC gilt weiß ich nicht. Ich habe das Board jetzt seit knapp einer Woche im Einsatz und konnte noch nicht alle Funktionen testen, wie z.B die 2 EXP-Ports. Für das wofür ich es gekauft habe, Effekt Pedalen bedienen unter Logic Pro X und iPad erfüllt es bisher seinen Zweck. Meine Einsatz Umgebung =========== Bass und: OS X: Hackingtosh (aus einem PC gebauten Mac) mit Yosemtite OS X 10.10.3 CSL - USB nano Bluetooth-Adapter V4.0 RME Fireface UC USB Logic Pro X Amplitube 3 Blueboard App iOS: iPad Air 2 iOS 8.3 Line 6 Sonic Port VX Garage Band Amplitube 4 Blueboard App iPhone 6 iOS 8.3 Line 6 Sonic Port VX Garage Band Amplitube 4 Blueboard App Als erstes muss das Produkt registriert werden. Dies macht man am besten auf der Homepage von IK Multimedia. Nach dem Auspacken habe ich die mitgelieferten Batterien (4x AAA) eingelegt und das Gerät sowie Bluetooth und das Blueboard App auf dem jeweiligen Gerät gestartet. Das pairing verlief jeweils ohne Probleme. Das Blueboard App ist zwingend notwendig, da dieses, nach dem das Blueboard erkannt wurde, die Signale in Midi Daten an das jeweilige App oder Software weitergibt. Die Benutzung war auch jeweils ohne Probleme, in Amplitube auf OS X einfach mit der Midi Learn Funktion einmal das Pedal und Funktion ausgewählt und den jeweiligen Schalter am Blueboard drücken und schon kann man seine Tretmine steuern. Mit Latenz hatte ich bei keiner Anwendung Probleme. Ein kleiner Tipp zur Amplitube Nutzung: Es kam mir anfangs merkwürdig vor, das die Licht Anzeige des aktivierten Buttons an war, wenn der Effekt aus war, also genau umgekehrt, wie man es als Anzeige vermuten würde. Dies fand ich auch durchaus lästig. Jedoch wenn man den unter Midi, den min Wert auf 100 anstatt 0 setzt und bei max Wert 0 eingibt, dann ist die Beleuchtung wie sie sein sollte. Effekt an = Licht an. Mit Logic Pro X hatte ich genauso wenig Probleme wie unter iOS Ipad / Iphone. Einfach in das Midi Learn Fenster gehen (Apple Taste + L), Funktion auswählen die gesteuert werden soll und wieder den Blueboard Button drücken, fertig. Das Blueboard kann auch laut Anleitung über Micro USB Strom betrieben werden. Der Stecker hierfür sitzt jedoch im Batteriefach an der Unterseite. Dies ist meines Erachtens sehr Umständlich gelöst. Da man das Blueboard dafür erst einmal so präparieren muss, damit das Board nicht auf dem Kabel liegt. Warum die Hersteller das so gelöst haben ist für mich nicht erklärbar. Lösen kann man das, in dem man hoch genuge Gummi oder Silikon Füße drunter klebt damit das Kabel unter dem Board durch geführt werden kann und das Board natürlich weiterhin rutschfest bleibt. Negativ fällt bei IK Multimedia auch auf, das z.B. überall steht das man z.B. Amplitube Vollversion frei dazu erhält und es gibt dafür auch dann tatsächlich nach der Registrierung unter meine Produkte die Seriennummern für verschieden Produkte. Diese gehen aber nicht viel weiter als eine Demo Version im Sachen Umfang und man muß für teuer Geld alles kaufen. Das wäre dann auch nur halb so schlimm, wenn man dann nicht alles 3 mal bezahlen müsste, um das App und die gleiche Funktionen unter iOS iPhone, iOS iPad und OS X haben möchte. Das nervt sehr. Fazit: =========== Dies ist ein recht tolles Werkzeug, nicht nur für die Bedienung von Effekt Pedalen für Gitarristen / Bassisten sondern für alle, die über ein Floorboard unterschiedliche Triggers auslösen wollen. Im mobilen Bereich ist das Blueboard in Verbindung mit Amplitube ebenfalls nach meinem Empfinden eine Bereicherung. Alles was ich nun noch brauche ist mein Bass, iPad, Blueboard, und mein Line 6 Sonic Port VX. Nur noch ans Mischpult anschließen und los. Vorbei sind die Zeiten in den ich meinen Combi erst mal mit Equipment beladen mußte um alles dabei zu haben :) Von mir also eine klare Kaufempfehlung. Rock on \m/

Excelente producto justo lo que necesitaba. Lo uso para cambiar páginas dejando mis manos libres al leer y poder seguir tocando. Es compatible con forscore, pero no con ibooks o acceso guiado. No creo darle uso de switch de efectos, como en amplitube y guitar rig.
