BUG-A-SALT 2.0 Lawn & Garden Model

I Have had this for 3 Days so Not sure about it life expectancy. But I can say, that 1st day killed more than 100 flies, and 6 spiders, 4 other assorted flying insects all out in the garden. 2nd day more than 100 flies out in the garden. If I get them out side it may reduce the population, so that they don't come inside, well that it's a lot of fun blasting flies with this Salt Shooter. I bought a box of both Morton Table and a box of Kosher Salt, Kosher is a coarser salt, so I started with the Kosher and it did Not disappoint. The kosher salt tears flies up, it into pieces when you get a direct hit. Not every shot is a Kill, Why you ask? it is because this is a Shot gun using tiny grains of salt if the spread hits all around the fly without a direct hit then the fly lives on and flies away. But 95% of the time one shot one kill, Wasps, do Not die from a few shots their exoskeleton is to tough, Besides I have a better way to kill wasps, I use a Hand Pump water sprayer for gardens, fill it with water to fill line add some any kind of dishwashing Liquid to the water gently stir to mix, then pump it and spray on wasps and their nests (For Nests Only spray in early morning or at dusk when they are sleeping) they suffocate pretty quick and die. I bought the Laser sight for Salt Shotgun, but have only been using the fixed sights so far. I want to Mount a single point sling so that I can have it over the neck and ready but don't have to carry it. The Bug-A-Salt can produce quick follow up shot(s) once the safety is disabled. Salt shooter, is a good size, Light weight, very functional, hard to put down and Fun to take out flies with it. turns your mind set into Hunter mode. Easy to cycle through cocking action that's important when taking out a 100 flies in a day, very functional. Wife is now becoming interested in using Bug a salt, at least for indoor insects, I never thought that would happen.

In the Pacific Northwest, we have very large house spiders, hobo spiders, and wolf spiders that love to take up habitation inside our homes. They are extremely unpleasant to encounter. And they seem to always find a way to sneak up on you in the MOST inopportune and vulnerable moments you can possibly imagine. My irrational and overwhelming fear of spiders paralyzes me in most encounters of the large 8-legged kind, and prevents me from getting close enough to poke/smash/swipe/stomp or otherwise touch them with a limb or blunt weapon. I am also opposed to using pesticides and sprays in or around my house because I don't want to expose my kids to them. Enter the Bug-a-Salt 2.0 Lawn & Garden. Boy is this thing effective and satisfying to use. I almost exclusively use mine for eradicating spiders inside the house and immediately outside the house . I load mine with kosher coarse salt, and try to reach the barrel out as close to the target as possible without scaring it away (~1-2 feet away) for maximum effectiveness. Small and medium sized spiders (including black widows) are immediately dispatched in one shot. Really big spiders (hobos, giant house spiders) sometimes take 2-3 shots before they go down. On the large spiders, the beauty of this thing is that the first shot will almost always injure the the target and knock it down off its perch, at which point it is somewhat hobbled, limping away, and easy to deliver the finishing shot(s) or a decisive stomp of the boot. + Effective against medium and large spiders + No touch method of eradication + No chemicals or smelly sprays + Really fun!!

Update: So mine stopped working early on. So I was naturally a little disappointed. But the customer service team reached out and sent me a troubleshooting link that had a simply solution to my problem. Anyway my Bug a salt is now in working order and I'm back to ridding my house of flies. I highly recommend this product not only because it's fun and you don't have to literally fill your house with poison. Also the company truly seems to care about the product and will work with if you have any problems. Ok so this is not my first bug a salt. My fist one was the "Bug a salt 2.0" and I got some decent mileage out of it. This one on the other hand stopped working on day 2. So the fist day I used it all was going well, killed flies at a reasonable distance, easy to use and packed more of a punch than the 2.0 version. However the next time I decided to take out a fly it just seemed to bounce off it. Socked I tested the weapon on my hand and barely noticed any salt or air pressure with diminishing returns on every new shot. In total I bagged 6 flies with it before it stopped working. It's to bad I really want this to work and if I ever find out how to fix it I will change my review. But in the meantime I can't justify anything higher than 1 star for a $40+ item that barely works. If you want one get it. I hope yours works longer than mine.

Amazing product. Took out whole families of horse flies and dear flies. Hours of entertainment with gypsy moth larvae and egg patches. giant moths explode into dust.

I’m having so much fun with this. It’s a blast. And it jeeps the kids in line. As long as you aim for the legs, it doesn’t leave marks.

Works great on mosquitoes and flies.

Solid product..works ok..you need to be closer that 3 feet for it to kill house Flys and sometimes takes a few shots to kill it but its fun..the price is too high though..

This is no nerf gun.. you realize that when you take it out of the box.. very solid and heavy trigger pull.. goodbye bugs.
