Malabrigo Rios #120 Lotus

Just received my Malabrigo yarn -Rios-Arco Iris 866 and am in complete awe. The yarn is absolutely beautiful. The quality of the texture is amazing, the colors in the pattern of the yarn is gorgeous. It makes such a beautiful difference in the appearance of my knitting item. It’s easy to use, doesn’t seen to knot up and quite a lot of yardage in the skein. I will be using this yarn a lot. It really makes a nice difference.

This yarn is Malabrigo's RIOS worsted superwash Merino wool. I have been repeatedly turning to this wonderful yarn for project after project. It is one of the best worsted Merinos I have ever used and was surprised and thrilled to see it being carried by Amazon. I hope they will continue to provide this and other Malabrigo yarns. I have mobility issues and have great difficulty getting to my LYS. I love knowing Amazon is now providing top quality yarns and as long as they do I will continue to be a customer. I love this yarn so much I even give it as gifts to my knitting friends and family! ( No photos at this time since I just about always knit my projects to give as gifts.)

Beautiful, soft and wonderful to return with yarn. Colorways are gorgeous but consistency in dye lots can be pretty variable, so pictures aren't always perfectly representative of the actual product received. Happily, this order was a good match.

I loved working with this yarn. The stitch count stayed true and my sweater is gorgeous. My only complaint is that it stretched to much after washing, may have to drop it in the dryer for a few mins. It is even softer after washing. I really like the price, to get a nice hand dyed yarn for half the cost of local dyed yarns.

I appreciate the convenience of shopping on Amazon but knowing I am purchasing from a small business. $15.40 is the best price you can usually find per hank for Malabrigo + free shipping - even on just one - cannot beat it. The yarn itself I personally love. It is true it is on the thinner/lighter side for a worsted weight yarn. I find it very soft, love the colors, and it knits up beautifully. I love that Rios is a superwash wool for ease of care. I am currently using it in multiple projects. This time I purchased just one hank of Lotus, because despite many other choices, both my daughters want THIS ONE for the hats I’m making them, and I only had the one. The new one I received is not quite as vibrant as the other - but it doesn’t matter, the hats will be on two different heads. I also fully expected this, given the other was purchased about 3 years ago. Lol. It’s actually more similar than you might expect under those circumstances - very obviously the same color way (which is a soft, beautiful mix of lavenders, purples, light blue/aqua/teal). I’m pretty sure it came from the same seller because I remember the tissue wrapping and handwritten note. Thank you, Jenny! :)

The color is BEAUTIFUL. The yarn is very soft and squishy with silver highlights that pop against a grey background (at least my dye batch did). I have silver hair and am planning on knitting a cowl to wear with my black winter jacket. Can't wait to start the project.

Malabrigo Rios is my favourite knitting yarn and I have knitted many sweaters and ponchos I many different colour ways. This latest colour, Indiecita, is a blend of spring green, lavender and aqua and knitted up into a beautiful cable sweater.

Lovely colour and comfortable to wear. Made a nice soft shawl. Excellent price.
