Security in Computing, 4th Edition 4th Edition

Great book, I learned a great deal of foundation security knowledge. Some things kinda leave you in the dark (actually implementing what your learning....could have used some hands on examples), and other things went a little too in depth. Ultimately the book helped me with what I now regard as an essential security foundation.

The product name Security in Computing, 4th Edition, the product described as in good condition and with the hardcover not soft cover which means not the International As far as the cost of book is very good reasonable and the shipping is fairly accepted. The book arrived on the expected time line and it came as clean as it described.

At time good

This book contains a LOT of information on various topics of computer and network security. When I received the book and opened it, the book felt like a brick, but after looking through it I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to find exactly what I was looking for. Definitely a good book to have for a security collection.

This book is superficial, weak, and out of date. It skips over many newer developments and the "Where the field is headed" sections often focus on research that is twenty years old. I hate to pick on the authors because writing a good book is difficult, but this book makes me doubt they have much recent experience in the field.I had to buy this for school and plan to sell it back as soon as the quarter is over. I've stopped reading the book and now just skim the topics to make sure I brush up on any weak areas using other sources.

This book covers a variety of topics in Security relevant in todays market. I used this book for one of my BSc. degrees, and it is a gem. I still reference it from time to time, so I recommend it to both students and trained IT professionals.

I ordered the book on August 24 and expected recieve date was by September 14. I still have not received the book on September 21 and requested that the seller send another book, which they would have been happy to, while using the standard USPS shipping again, but they would not ship Priority Mail with deliver confirmation so I can actually see the tracking information. Then do not expedite shipping, which usually receive books by the 3rd or forth day. The company claims to be shipping out of Deleware and I receive items from Deleware within two days. I would like to see the company ship with delivery confirmation but I don't think they will acutally do that. Needless to say, they refunded my money and orded directly through Amazon (no sellers involved) for a little extra cost with Super shipper Savings.

This is an excellent book, it is very descriptive concerning various security mechanisms and how they are used to secure you home as well office network from threats internal as well as external. This is a good read. Easy to understand and follow.
