And crusty
A family and a number of couples arrive in a tropical resort and are told soon after of a secret beach off the beaten track. Soon after their arrival on the beach a body washes up on the shore and as everyone tries to leave to fetch help they realise they are stuck, something or someone won't allow them to leave. As time passes panic and madness sets in as the residents of the beach realise their lives have started ageing at an alarming rate.Old was a very decent idea for a story and I especially liked the ending that gives us an explanation for the strange occurrances on the beach. However, the whole thing was poorly executed. There are lots of decent ideas floating around but they have been given to a group of actors who have very little to work with regarding their characters and story development. This is partly down to the script, partly down to some dodgy acting. I feel this story would have worked better as a one off episode in something like The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits rather than a full length film, it should have worked and been a really creepy mystery but unfortunately it came across as a bit silly. On the positive side, it wasn't as bad as Mark Wharlberg negotiating with a house plant for his family's freedom! It has that going for it at least!

Horror with a Difference!
Horror with a difference? No scary monsters, no axe swinging maniac, no dark haunted house. No none of the traditional horror scenarios. No this is as far away from those as it is possible to get.The setting is a luxury holiday resort, with all the creature comforts, being waited on hand and foot and being invited to a picnic on a beautiful private secluded beach for just few chosen guests. So what's the trepidation?Well twenty minutes to half an hour on the beach and you age a year and there's no way off the beach.A six year old little girl can, and does, grow to woman hood, gets pregnant, go full term and give birth in one afternoon.Older member of the group are dropping like flies from just old age. Others are suffering the effects of ageing before their time. What is causing this phenomena? Can anyone of them survive long enough to find away off the beach? Why have they been selected to live out the rest of their lives in just a day?Why is the resort exposing them to this?and why and who is filming them from the cliff top?

The Perfect Vacation
A group of people on a secluded beach on holiday discover that the beach causes them all to age rapidly. Feeling like an episode of The Twilight Zone, director M. Night Shyamalan's latest is a daft but fun psychological horror thriller with good performances from Rufus Sewell and the rest of the cast as the group sees their children and themselves grow older at an alarmingly fast rate with no way off the beach to get help. M. Night Shyamalan's comeback since The Visit is now complete though this isn't his best work it's a very solid and enjoyable effort.

Atmospheric brilliance
M Night lives in the shadow of The Sixth Sense.Every film he makes is always compared to it UNFAIRLY!I love the Atmosphere he creates in all his films, and OLD was brilliant.

Old before my time
They aged 45 years over the course of the film - I know EXACTLY how they felt.Badly acted, badly scripted and terribly directed it was just awful to watch. The premise was half decent but the pay off doesn't justify what came before.Seriously, watch this and there's 45 years you're not going to get back....
