Very impressive mounts!
We ordered two of these mounts for a friend's club projectors and were pleasantly surprised by the build quality given their price point. I have used and handled many different projector mounts and found this one easy to use and built like a tank.Installation was simple for the base plate despite being on a vaulted ceiling, as was the mount to the projector. In this case, we were using BenQ HT1070A projectors and can attest that this mount works very well with these devices. The only thing wanting in this kit is a pipe for the correct drop length needed for your installation. You can order one of QualGear's drop pipes and connectors to fit your needs or, if you don't want to risk having the wrong answer on it, do as we did. We went to Home Depot and bought a coupling and every size from 3" to 18" so we could see what worked before for this installation since we had to maneuver around other stuff on the ceiling and couldn't get what we felt was an exact measure. We then just returned the unused pieces after we had it where we wanted it.Minor adjustments were easy and the entire project was done pretty quickly.

Just go Chief
Poorly made. The mount will walk with a projector that has any kind of weight to it (still under the claimed 70lb limit). Better off just going Chief. The cathedral mount also walks no matter how hard you tighten down. Adjustment screws stripped out using the provided allen key.

It is SO MUCH BETTER than the cheapies!
I've had a cheapie mount for years and I vowed that when I got a new projector "The "Frankenstein mount has to go!"Well, I just got a new Epson Home Cinema 3800 (also fantastic) and took the opportunity to replace the mount with this one. issues with my original mount were that it was not designed for vaulted ceilings (so I needed spacers in the front to account for the vault) and the mounting holes were on the outside edges, which "straddled" my stud, not allowing me to bolt directly in to it.This mount is much sturdier and the mounting holes are down the middle so I could bolt it directly to the stud. The included hardware bag alone is worth the price of the mount. It includes everything you need to mount just about any projector and ceiling combination. I used the M4x10 machine screws/washers on the projector and the lag bolts directly attached to the stud for the mount bracket. It is rock solid!Once mounted I was able to precisely control placement so it is dead centered on my 150" wall screen with no pincushioning whatsoever (of course the projectors optical lens shift helped as well ;0)Do yourself a favor and don't skimp on the mount. You'll be living with it for a long time and you don't want to have to go back up there to replace it later.

Excellent mount. Not so excellent price.
You won't be disappointed in this mount. Although you may not like the price. But there are more expensive options out there for sure, so don't cheap out much more if you have a quality projector. This is as good a compromise as I could find.

Does not work on vaulted ceiling
I bought this to mount a projector on a vaulted ceiling, but it’s designed for a flat ceiling. It looks different than the photos. Very disappointed. I still used it because I was in a time crunch, but I had to use a bunch of washers on one side to make it work on vaulted ceiling.

Heavy Duty Top Quality Projector Mount
Very easy to install. Heavy duty construction. I have no worries that this thing is going to safely hold up my Epson 5040ub projector. I also purchased the 12" extension and they fit together perfectly.

Super strong and well-made, but may be hard to fit
Spent 2 days installing this mount with the 2' extension tube on a vaulted and sloped ceiling. There weren't many options when it came to finding a white mount that would work at an angle, but this was the 'middle' range pick. There was a cheaper Vivo one, and a more expensive Vogel option. Having owned a low profile Qualgear mount previously, I decided to try this one.Overall, it's incredibly strong if you center it on a ceiling stud. It took serious effort to drill in those thick screws, so I have no doubt this thing will hold my Optoma UHD50's weight. The cable management on the tube extension is great, although the base kit here is lacking that option. Installation was relatively simple and making small tweaks to center the screen properly worked well. However, there were a few things I did not like. One was that the hex screws used are not standard, so you will most likely have to use included hex tools (there's and extra 'dot' in the middle of the hex screw). Second and more annoying was the attachment design to the projector. The two Optoma projectors I've owned have 3 points of attachment, while this mount is designed for 4. That wasn't a problem on the previous Qualgear mount I had, as it was easy to remove and then adjust the remaining arms to fit. However, on this model the thickness of the arms allow for much less range, so trying to get them to fit my 3 points took a ton of effort. I ended up removing part of the arms and using some spare spacers from the previous mount to get it to work. See pictures.I am guessing that issue may be unique to certain projector models that use 3 hole mounts, so I won't dock too many stars from it's rating.Overall, I am satisfied with it's build quality, design, and ability to make fine tweaks. I'm not sure if it is necessarily worth 3x as much as the Vivo alternative, but I plan to keep the Qualgear. As usual with these things, measure thrice before ordering which pipe extension you'll need (or I guess you can cut your own).

Works perfectly for my heavy 25lb Epson 5040UBe in a sloped ceiling
Couldn't ask for more with this mount which I used for my Epson 5040UBe projector. This is one heavy projector at almost 25 pounds in weight and mounted on solid as a rock. All I had to do was connect power supply and it was off to the races. I highly recommend this mount to anyone looking for a medium to heavy projector mount.
