Great for first time scanners
**(I'm not being paid for this review. It is my honest opinion)**If you're looking for an inexpensive 3D scanner to begin scanning projects or faces, then this is the scanner for you.Ok, so I recently started 3D printing, a little over a year, and decided to get a 3D Scanner. I wanted to scan my face and my kids faces to see how they would look 3D printed. After searching numerous scanners I came across the Revopoint POP Scanner. The price was cheaper than A LOT of scanners out there and I wanted something small and portable and this was it.First opening it, I felt that the packaging and build was great. I liked the professional look it had. Plus the red and black combination reminded me of Star Wars, lol. After setting up the scanner and the turntable (which I purchased separately) I found that downloading the software to my laptop was a little challenging but not difficult. I did wish the instructions for that was clearer in the owners manual/quick start booklet. Once I had it up and running, it wasn't that bad. There is definitely a learning curve to it. The turntable was straight forward, no issues there. After a few scans of the bust that they provided, I did feel that the scanner was getting hot underneath where the tripod connects to it. That might just be the sun hitting it or something wrong with the battery overheating. I will definitely bring that issue to Revopoint. I did download the scanner app for my Android phone but it was crashing A LOT so I didn't bother to figure it out, since I only had 30 minutes of sleep after working a double, but I digress.Overall, I feel that this scanner is a great asset to my 3D printing journey and I fell that it would be for you as well. So happy printing and happy scanning.

Not working!
I was really excited to purchase this scanner for my 3D business and I thought this scanner work great after watching the advertisements video. I have some major issues with this scanner.1. The software keeps freezing and crashing every time I'm using it. It's really annoying and wasted my time.2. scanner doesn't capture all the details like in their advertisement video. not even close to that! it's even getting worse when you try to scan in color mode.

Awesome detail.
Great 3d scans and definitely best value for the money. Wasn't expecting the detail I got at this price. Software is very intuitive and easy to use. Got my mother scanned on the first try and my own face. Best using USB. Also tried wireless but it is more cumbersome. The Android app does a decent job but it is limited by the phone memory. Definitely more detail and haven't hit a limit using a Windows PC (Octacore Ryzen 7, 48GB RAM) Need to find a USB extension cable capable of handling high speed.

Dream tool for 3D hobbyist
I bought this device in the Fall of 2021, just prior to the release of the second version. Detail wise, the first Revopoint Pop is very impressive. Scan quality does rely on good lighting and a steady hand, so there is a definite learning curve. Revopoint has improved the companion software drastically since this first came out, which helps fuse subjects that were scanned in pieces. I still haven't managed a full scan in one shot.I find that scanning while connected to a PC works best, although the few times i used this via a Mac computer or a wireless device it worked fine. Previous experience with 3D software is highly recommended but not necessary for enthusiastic newcomers. There are plenty of helpful tutorials online, even though Revopoint resources are a little sparce.

Do Not buy *at this time*
Seems solid, well packed, decent instructions but did not work.-The USB 3.0 on my laptap would not power appropriately for a scan (concluded after pouring over "community" posts).-Used the mobile cable to attempt setup on my Note 10+ android phone and the hardware seemed promising but the app is no longer accessible in the playstore and the Revopoint website redirects to the playstore as well. Hopefully this will be able to be fixed soon. I thought I had checked for the app before I purchased, so I don't know whats happened since.-The customer service system needs overhauled as it leaves you unable to select a different contact option (Chat, E-mail, Phone) and leaves you hanging; not knowing if someone else is on the chat after initial contact and automtically return you to the chat if you try to start a new communication. I suppose I could have tried to clear my phones cache and maybe.... The chat dialogue automatically gets transferred (good) to an e-mail but it is a very intensive data stream making it very difficult to follow. Being able to select the call option after selecting the chat probably would have helped the situation.Considering the cost, difficulty to set up (after verifying specs via the description before purchase), and ineffective customer service I have returned the equipment.*** update- app seems to be available in playstore again as of 20Jan2023 (at the latest) ***

Great 3d scanner at a good price
The scanner and software are great! After 2 days of testing it and watching videos I was able to 3d scan several objects successfully. It's quick and accurate. Combine a quality scan with some basic modeling skills and you have a winner! Wish it was a bit cheaper, but it's the best you'll find for the money.

Tested stated Accuracy of 0.3mm. Resolution is the problem
I've been using high-end 3D scanners 20+ years. The Revopoint POP is a consumer level 3D scanner that has high end features. I got one to try out. Most reviews were "soft and fuzzy", so I thought I'd use my experience to test the accuracy and resolution. My interest lies more in engineering than art work. It's not bad, but Revopoint has a new Kickstarter for a second generation sensor that has more accuracy and resolution ( smaller point space distance ). My review is on youtube. For small turn-table scans I was able to achieve the stated 0.3mm accuracy. The problem is that the point grid spacing is around 0.5-0.6mm, so anything with edges are not captured well. It's great for soft edged artistic pieces, not mechanical reverse engineering
