Wonderful toy that my children and I really love!
Wow, I'm surprised to see so many poor reviews. First, let me say that a friend of mine backed CogniToys on Kickstarter. After hearing about it from her (she had a good experience), I decided to get one for my kid's birthday in October. I set it up first to see how it works... and honestly, I've had a great time. Also, on a personal note, I love buying new tech products when they come out... I bought the Echo as soon as I heard about it, so this was right up my alley. Plus, my kid loves dinosaurs.I think people need to remember this product launched recently, and the company behind it is making improvements all the time. This isn't another human, and it's not Google... so of course it's not going to know the answer to every single question (My Echo misses or misunderstands questions all the time). And, it's not a company like Apple who's had years and years to work on the product. Rome wasn't built in a day, and dinos aren't either! Last week, for example, I asked the dino "what's your favorite toy" and it didn't know the answer. I asked again today and now he does have an answer! I was excited to see someone, somewhere saw it missed my question and took the time to make sure the dino had an answer the next time around. Also, I see some people don't like that you can't interrupt the dino. In all honesty, this is a POSITIVE feature for me. We're currently working on our "pleases, "thank yous" and "wait you turns" at home and I think the fact that you need to wait until the toy is done speaking will help the manners I've been (trying) to help instill. I'm not sure if this is intentional, but I appreciate that it helps kids to stop, listen and pay attention to what's being said. And, if you really don't like a story or game all you need to say is "stop" once the dino finishes his sentence. In terms of activities, I think it's a cool mix. I do wish there were more bedtime stories... but I'm sure they'll add more at some point. While it's not necessarily an activity, I love that the dino can spell. My kid still can't read, so typing a word into google, or looking it up in the dictionary isn't any option for him yet. With the Dino, he can directly ask and receive an answer about how to spell a word. All in all, I'm really happy I bought this toy. I think it's a great tool for learning. For kids, it can do a lot more than Alexa or Siri in terms of games/ stories... If you choose to buy it, realize that while it's not going to get EVERY question (it's not connected to Google... a lot of answers to questions such as "why is the sky blue" are written in a way that's obviously just for kids) or have EVERY feature you can think of, it WILL get better over time... I've seen it happen and I think it's awesome.

Do not purchase this toy!
Didn't work. Choppy speech and I have 100mps Internet. There is something wrong with the toy that it can't process fast enough to speak. Great idea, horrible product.

Poor Product
poor product for price. one button on stomach and it does not consistently work. Hours spent removing batteries and putting them back in to get it to work the first time. Put for night thinking we are all good. Next day does not work. Hours spent again to get it to work. Speech of Dino is horrible, not like what I heard on the videos. It cannot understand what you are saying and not consistent product. Expected more for the price.

The first day or two was tough with Dino, as it was sounding very choppy and unintelligible. I assume there was a firmware update needed, or extreme lag on my home network. Either way, I was sure we were going to have to send it back. But everything seems fine now and my daughter really enjoys how interactive and "smart" this toy is. She named it Pinky and the Brain, and it recognizes that as it's name, which I thought was an interesting touch.

Had issues setting it up, was told there were too many people trying to set up on their server. It is sometimes hard to understand and it does not always understand what you say. I had to set up 3 times since buying for my kids at Christmas 2016 - 4 months,

We have two little girls and we live in Argentina. We are not English-native speakers, but my kids loves the Dino since they got it. It is very cute, and said it loves they too! As they are learning English language, every time the Dino answers is a double reward for them. Because of the answer and, because they feel they got to speaking in English!Have you seen these kids' reaction? They are not surprised regarding the Dino can listen or it can talk. They are excited about how far is the moon actually!!!This is a toy I can leave my kids with. I'm sure the content they are going to get is CURATED CONTENT, and not anything a bot just found on the network. We did wait long for getting this toy. We are really enjoying it so much.
