I’ve bought this five times now, which probably says everything. This has been one of the better styling products I’ve found for getting a strong hold without making my hair look shiny, greasy, or overly stiff. The texture is really nice once you warm it up in your hands, and it works through the hair pretty easily. It gives a good amount of control and structure, but still leaves a natural-looking matte finish. I like that I can style my hair and have it stay put without looking like I used a ton of product. It also doesn’t feel heavy, which is a big plus. Some high-hold products can make fine hair look flat or dirty by the end of the day, but this one has been much better for me. A little goes a long way, so the container lasts longer than you’d expect. Overall, this is a solid everyday styling clay. Strong hold, matte finish, easy to work with, and reliable enough that I’ve kept coming back to it.

Excellent - great product. If I could give this ten stars, I would. First, there’s no smell. Which is awesome. As a grown man I don’t want my head to smell and breathe that scent in all day. If I want to smell a certain way, I’ll use cologne or after shave. Secondly, this product scores the highest on Yuka of everything comparable I’ve tried, by far. So it’s nice knowing I’m not going to pick up some rare cancer because I’ve been putting something in my hair to style it. Third, this product holds all day, but if you know how to use it, it isn’t a crusty or gross wet hold. If you get hit with a strong rain, wind, snow, etc. - you can easily restyle it and it goes on providing a good hold. I carry a small comb for my hair and beard. Third, it’s easy to wash out in the shower/bath. Nothing crazy like some products. Lastly, for all the bad reviews I’m pretty sure they have no idea how to properly use this product because once you figure it out, you’ll never go back to the competition. Personally, I usually towel dry and then apply a dime size throughout my somewhat wet hair. Then I blow dry, combing my hair forward while blowing back. This creates volume. Once dry, I get dressed, then apply a bit more, another dime size, I run this through my hair after emulsifying in my hands. I even use this on my mustache and it holds better than any beard balm/wax I’ve ever used and isn’t annoying as some of those products. Then I style with a comb or my fingers - usually some of both. And you’re good. I ride a mountain bike, go to the gym, work, on a date, whatever. The only reason I’m taking the time to write this long review is because this is truly a wonderful product. Product feels quite lightweight with such a strong hold. Washes off my hands well with just warm water. Very subtle scent. Big fan. I am concerned that my product arrived with finger swipes off the top. I bought new, but did I get a used one? Odd.

Even though I have thin hair, and this is definitely overkill for my hair type, I absolutely love this product! It does such a great job holding my hair in place, especially back when I had longer hair and would often like to slick it back. It would keep my hair in place, and whenever there was a strong gust of wind, I could simply put it back in place. The strength of this product really does last a very long time! In terms of the ingredients, I'm happy to see that it contains so many natural ones. I come from using a very chemically-heavy gel, and going to something that's more "healthy" for more hair definitely brings me comfort. There's also almost no fragrance, which is great for those who are prone to irritation. It might be expensive, but it's so worth it IMO!

This is one of the best products I've used when it comes to holding throughout the day with almost zero gloss. But, for some reason, this product makes my hair appear dirty. It seems to make dust "stick" to your hair during the day, giving it a slight tint of grey to my black hair, making it look dirty. I tried to mix the product more into my hair, use less, use more, and nothing makes it go away & have only had this issue with this product. It's lightweight with almost no smell, but the "dusty" look it gives my hair is a dealbreaker.

I’ve purchased this three times, which should tell you everything. 😂 This stuff doesn’t style your hair. It informs your hair what the plan is, and your hair complies. A tiny amount gives great texture, a matte finish, and enough hold to keep everything exactly where I put it.

This stuff is terrible. It reminded me of plaster that’s about to dry—rock solid at first, then when you finally try to warm it up in your hands, it just gets stickier and gummier. I couldn’t even spread it properly in my palms, let alone get it into my hair. And when I did attempt to apply it, it literally yanked a few hairs out. Definitely not the strong hold I was expecting, either. And don’t even get me started on washing it off. I had to scrub my hands 4 or 5 times with hot water, soap, and even body wash. It was greasy, oily, and water just rolled right off. I ended up using an old towel just to get most of it off. I couldn’t wait to take a full shower just to feel clean again. Once I got it into my hair, it took forever to spread evenly. It didn’t warm up right, left patches, and felt heavy. Then, washing it out of my hair was a whole thing—I had to double shampoo just to get back to normal. For reference, I have medium-thick, mostly straight hair. I’ve tried a lot of hair products over the years, and I hate saying this, but this one was easily one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I’ve used other stuff from this brand that wasn’t bad at all, so I’m not trying to trash them completely. But this product just completely missed the mark. Maybe I got a bad jar, who knows—but I’m not taking that chance again. Bottom line: definitely not worth $25. I won’t be reordering.

Good clay. Very strong hold. You can use a small amount and still can get good texture. Ingredients are pretty good. Not the best but not the worst.
