Q: Would this be able to be used for creating videos? Also, is there anything else I'd need to purchase along with it?

Yes, you should be able to use for video as the light is constant (not a flash). Depending on what you're shooting, you may want to get more than one to fill in shadows; and you'll definitely want to have extension cords. The cords included are not very long...they barely reach the ground if you have the unit extended all the way.

24 inches. I'm happy with the purchase. Good value.

Q: How do you set up this product? I have the stand together but I do not know how to assemble the bulb into it. can someone help?

It was a little confusing for me as well. Just place your hand behind the center of the outside plate (on the outside), and then with the other hand push the round spring loaded plate back to meet with your hand. This springs down and around the socket. Then the bulb should just screw in. Mine works great. Love it. Good luck. Steve Bullock
