I would buy it again!
So our air conditioner stopped blowing cool air and before we paid an HVAC company a few hundred dollars to diagnose and fix our much older unit, we decided to try to fix it ourselves. We notice the can in the unit was mis-shaped so we hoped that if we replaced it, that would fix our problem. This can arrived quickly and was packaged very well. The replacement can fit perfectly. It was the exact same size so my dad was able to swap out the cans very easily. It was a great value for the money as it fixed our issues and saved us hundreds of dollars being able to do the replacement ourselves. After changing out the capacitor, the units cooling performance increased in the home. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone and I would definitely purchase again if needed in the future. Please make sure that if you decide to replace the capacitor on your unit that you remember to disconnect all power to the unit before removing the old one or putting in the new one.

Great capacitor, does it job well!
Great capacitor. I used this capacitor to replace one in my portable air conditioner that failed. It was a bit bigger than the old one, but it fit perfectly in the control box. It was easy to install, just clip on the connectors and screw in the securing band. So far it’s been working fantastic. It even solved the crazy power draw issues that the AC was causing (it was pulling over 20 Amps when the compressor kicked on). Now it’s only pulling a stable 7.5-8 Amps and it’s no longer tripping the breaker constantly. This thing was a lifesaver especially with the insane heat we’ve been having this week. I might even order a second one to have on hand just in case!

Solid product and a good value
Capacitors are wear items that are best either proactively replaced before they go bad or, at the very least, you should keep a properly rated spare on hand for when the one in your current AC unit inevitably quits. Furthermore, replacing a capacitor is a job that is well within the average DIY’er with nothing but the most basic tools required. There are plenty of YouTube videos on how to do it and do so safely. That is, unless you want to pay an HVAC repair company $200/$300/$400 or more when your capacitor quits (and it will eventually) on the hottest day of the year. Yes, that is what they charge to replace a capacitor. This Blue Stars brand dual run capacitor arrived promptly and when tested with my Klein MM700 multimeter was almost spot on the label rating and well within the claimed 5% tolerance. Replaced an aging Dayton (Grainger) part number 2MEK3B of the same specifications (50 + 7.5 mfd) in a 20 year old Lennox central air unit (not the original capacitor). The dimensions of the Blue Stars capacitor (both diameter and height) matched the Dayton unit being replaced exactly and were consistent with the product listing. The capacitor being replaced was still working and tested OK so it will go on the shelf as a spare. The capacitor itself is clearly marked (C=common, FAN, and HERM (compressor)). Terminals feel solid as does the metal (aluminum) casing. Did not weigh it but felt as heavy (if not slightly more) than the capacitor it was replacing. The product labeling clearly shows China as the place of manufacture but claims it is UL (USA) and CE (Europe) certified (but I have no way to verify this). Product listing in Amazon states a 100% lifetime warranty. Can’t vouch for that either. When installed and tested, the AC unit fired right up with the new capacitor. Far less expensive than I could find locally (Southwest Ohio). Certainly inexpensive enough to either purchase to have a spare on hand or, like me, proactively swap out an aging part before a problem occurs so I could do it at my convenience and schedule. As noted above, replacing a capacitor is not rocket science and within the ability of anyone that can replace a household light switch. Just make sure you get a capacitor of the right microfarad (MFD) rating for your application and TURN OFF THE POWER before you even think about starting the project. This means either flipping the circuit breaker in the main panel for the AC unit off or using the exterior safety disconnect switch where the AC interconnects to the house power. Simply turning off the switch on the furnace or thermostat IS NOT ENOUGH. Also, a capacitor, even one that has failed, can hold a residual charge and, therefore, make sure you discharge the old unit. Again, there are many videos available on how to do this and do it safely. Do some homework if this is new to you as saving a few dollars is not worth a serious injury or electrocution. Can’t comment yet on durability or service life but will update if it fails prematurely. Otherwise, a good solid product and an excellent value. Five (blue) Stars. Best Replacement
My house is almost 20 yrs old and I have not changed anything on my Lennox A/C unit until now. The capacitor went out. When I changed my old capacitor, it was rusted and couldn't see any writings on the top to connect the correct wires. I was able to clean it up enough to see the "C", "Fan", and "Herm" writing on top. Anyways, this capacitor work excellent. It fits my old one exactly, and it was not expensive at all. If my second A/C condensor goes out, I will buy this item again. No question. Thank you for this product.

Finally the proper ratings.
I'd been using a 55/5 capacitor on our compressor unit because the 55/7.5 rating wasn't available locally. Now the proper part is in place and the previous one is a spare in case of a failure. It's been working well since installation a few weeks ago.

Perfect replacement, got my AC running instantly!
Great capacitor! My central AC fan had stopped working, but dropping this 50+5 MFD BlueStars unit in fixed the problem immediately. It is UL Certified, fits the standard round mounting bracket perfectly, and works for 370V/440V setups. If your AC compressor or fan motor is struggling to start, this is a quick, high-quality, and affordable fix.

Great replacement part
Perfect replacement capacitor for our heat pump. Very cost effective to replace this part rather than having a contractor do it a few hundred $,
