Such an amazing bulb. I got one to try out, and since have purchased several more for myself as well as a gift for a relative after they saw mine. We are big fans and will likely purchase more in the future. Can't wait to use these for Halloween, I am sure they will look amazing! You do need to be sure you are using a frosted glass shade to defuse the LED lights but the effect is truly amazing and realistic. Looks great with a normal lampshade on a standard lamp as well. Using one in my room as an accent light right now to create a soft warm glow at night. Highly recommend these and worth the price!

First off the description is correct and these are designed to work with the base up.We ordered these as they were inverted, in stock, and smaller than most.The size is similar to the diameter of an LED bulb, but they are longer/taller than a bulb. They do fit into a medium size housing, but if it was small or tight on length you may have issues.The color and reflection of these are spot on, I mean the reflection off the wall looks like fire.The downside is the LED’s in the array are large and at any close distance (within 20 feet) they are going to be very noticeably spotty.We tested these in a frosted fixture with excellent results. However the fixture we are going to fit them in is clear with bubbles in the glass, this was no bueno. Basically the fixture/globe is going to have to be frosted for the correct effect.We have ordered some frosting material for the globes and have high hopes this should clean it up enough to do the trick.

I love these bulbs, I bought these to have a cool flame look in our garage and front porch lights for Halloween a couple years ago but i loved the way they looked so much we left them up thru Christmas and 2 years later i still haven't taken them out. I don't turn the front lights on every night, especially in the summer but i turn them on much more often because i just think these lights are so neat. They're expensive so i'm very glad they haven't burned out on me yet.

Description seems a tad off. The amazon ad I see has a delightful picture of a wooden lantern/lamp. Actually several procurers including a cord and a nice handle to carry it with... I got a LED light bulb. That’s cool and all, but I wanted the lamp/lantern. “ JUNOLUX Vintage Wood Lantern Nautical Decorative Indu...”. Now I got to go thru the wonderful world of returning an item.

Its blocks, poor quality (got 3 and 1 came broken at the base. The "fire" is larger blocks that don't resemble the higher quality alternatives. Maybe if this was placed in a very heavily frosted \ fogged glass would this look acceptable. Did not use, they sit in the corner. I would not purchase or suggest it to anyone .

I wish it was a little more blurred to look like a real flame. It kind of looks like an 8-bit flame which for our neighborhood is kind of great. So I've grown to appreciate it.

Very cool light. Although pictured with small dot LEDs you really can't tell from a distance that the flame is made up of the little lights. This is hanging in a light fixture out front of the house in a clear glass fixture. If you get really close you can see the small dots but from a distance it looks and moves like a real flame. Only light I know of like this that plugs in with the base at the top. Very cool purchase for the season and would recommend it!

Rarely do I give a 5-star review, but this lantern is not only beautiful in appearance but neatly packaged and incredibly functional. Assembly was 4 screws and a handle attachment. I slipped a WiFi bulb inside and integrated it into my Master Bedroom Suite. Highly recommended!
