This is a very well designed bag with a lot of utility on top of the laptop storage. Good quality leather and looks like its made to last (will update if otherwise). There were previous negative reports that the hardware was tarnished but mine was not (all hardware covered with plastic wrap on arrival). It did have a pretty strong smell initially but I left outside (covered) for 48 hours and it was fine after that. Leather is still upon arrival but softened up after a short time of use. All pockets are accessed vial a buckle...but I think it adds to a nice look.

*UPDATE 2023*My now, fiance, who tours the country for a living, STILL uses this bag and it's holding up REALLY REALLY well. No tears, no hard distress....just obviously worn in. I mean, it's been SIX YEARS and it's still his main bag. Mind you, he packs this bag to the BRIM. His laptop is a 17in gaming laptop and holds all his wires and portfolios in it. GET THIS BACK. I promise you, you won't regret it.----------ORIGINAL REVIEW------I bought this bag for my boyfriend for Christmas and he LOVED it. He's had his old leather bag that he's kept for 5 years because he is SO picky with his leather goods and this bag DID NOT DISAPPOINT. He's had it for less than a month now and has gotten so many compliments on it. It is VERY well made and the Handmade_World customer service is WONDERFUL. When I first got the bag there was a problem with the strap. It didn't seem like a quality problem more than it was just a tiny defect (one of the clasp had broken in half). I really didn't want to return it because it was honestly the perfect bag. So I contacted the buyer and received a new strap within a week. I would definitely order from them again.As for the actual product, it comes flat in a box. Like new leather, it is stiff. So I stuffed the bag and left it stuffed for about a week and it really started to get it's own shape. The lining in the actual bag is green and obviously well stitched. I got the biggest size (18") bc my boyfriend is a 6 foot tall guy so I figured on him it wouldn't look bulky or big at all. It looked perfect versus on me (5ft) it was HUGE. The buckles are functional (not magnets) which is what he prefers. It's really super roomy bag that fits his laptop, lots of cords and wires, and journals. He tours for a living and I think this bag will stand all the traveling that he does.Definitely would buy from handmade_world again!

I really like the leather, the color is awesome! The pockets and storage are roomy. Looks like its going to be very durable. Cant wait to see the performance of this case

This is a great bag. Sturdy. Great material. Smells fantastic. Lots of nice little pockets and stuff, including a double-zipper pocket on the back-side, so you don't have to open the satchel just to get out a few papers to read on the bus. I'm glad I have it.But... one particular pocket is on the front interior of the main compartment, with a zipper for access. I usually hide my headphones (earbuds), etc in there. There is a similar zippered pocket on the inside of the back of the main compartment. The fabric above the zipper is clearly meant to be sewn into the leather above it... but that isn't the case here. Instead either the fabric was slightly too short (and didn't get sewn in), or there was meant to be a double-stitch and that didn't happen. Either way, the fabric was just tucked in under the fold of the leather. When I put some earbuds in there, that top of the fabric flapped open. I tucked it back under, and now it pops out everytime I zip or unzip that pocket. (See picture) Ah, shucks. This can't happen with the back zippered interior pocket because the fabric there is a large piece that makes up the underside of the satchel's flap.This isn't a dealbreaker. Its still a great bag, without spring-loaded snaps, which is important because those snaps can have a devastantingly short life-span. This one unsewn seam doesn't impede the functionality (I just tuck it back under the leather every time I zip the pocket closed), and I'm likely to just stitch it closed myself, but maybe this matters to you, dear reader.

If you are like me, you were scouring Amazon for a nice-looking bag without having to spend a fortune. And then you found this bag but you were worried about the quality at this price. So you kept looking but you kept coming back. Let me make this easy for you - buy this bag and forget the rest.Here’s what you need to know:• The bag ships from India which can take a couple of weeks depending where you are located.• As other reviewers have mentioned, the bag has an unpleasant odor on arrival but it goes away quickly. Let’s spin this as a smell of authenticity, something to be praised.• The leather is very dry upon arrival. Hat tip to another reviewer who suggested using a leather conditioner. I used Bick 4 for two coats on all leather surfaces. (Note: The conditioner will cause the bag to darken a few shades but that’s just because it’s so dry when it arrives.)• I have found no concerns with quality. There are many rivets and by my untrained eye, the workmanship seems to be sound. My bag has been tested daily by carrying my older model heavy laptop, lunch, umbrella, and water bottle – no issues at all.• The bag looks great. I thought it was crazy when other reviewers said they’d received compliments on their bags. Well it happened to me twice in the first month.

I've had many over the years. This bag is VERY nice! Both, in terms of quality and design. It looks better received than it does in the photos. For the price, you likely wont find anything like this. It can easily go 4x the cost here. If this looks desirable to you at a glance.... do yourself a favor.

Would be a nice if all the leather was the same color...but it was not, also one of the straps was paper thin, the other was 1/4" thick....I guess you get what you pay pay for, but I had high hope :(
