Not gold ink
This ink is not gold ink as its name suggests. Like a cheat.

Beautiful- pay attn to paper
I really like this ink. It's smooth and fluid yet rich, covers nicely. I do have one caveat - the level of gold seems to really depend on the paper. I'm an etegami artist and I tried this ink on watercolor paper and etegami paper (like sumi-e-ish?) in the same session and it looked really different. On the etegami cards it was gold with a hint of black outline, on the watercolor paper, it was pretty much black but with a vague metallic sheen...if you were looking for it. You do need to give it a thorough shake to mix it up and keep mindful once it's in your palette that the gold can sink, but even with all those things being equal, the paper seems to make a big difference. All of that said - I would totally buy this again, it's really nice!

very pretty. The ink is excellent quality
Gorgeous ink. I use a dip pen, and this flows perfectly in it. Comes with a little tiny ball bearing deep in the bottle! Shake it up before you use it, and you get a faint golden shimmer to your letters. They're still black - they just shimmer faintly in gold. It's subtle and very, very pretty. The ink is excellent quality. I've used several brands of inks in my dip pens, and this surprised me by becoming one of my favorites!

Not "golden" but gleaming black
The description on the case is a little misleading, but I tried this in a friends' house so I know it is not “golden” just black ink with some subtle golden gleaming. Good for calligraphy. You can see the contract with normal black ink in the red paper.

beautiful gold effect
This is the second one I buy, I found the first one in an art store and absolutely love the way the black and gold interact. Perfect for my artwork.
