It's my own fault! I was actually looking for a book that included the mechanics and stats parts for AS. This book is NOT suitable for me. However, I've still given it 5 starts because the quality of the book for its pure maths content is excellent.

Produced to look like the "official texts"
This series of books are produced to look just like the ones which are published by Pearsons who in turn produce the real exam papers! As a home tutor, these books are useful. They are (a little) cheaper than the Pearson books but ideal for additional questions and exercises to those the students are probably being set at school.

many more questions than the previous copy
It's not quite a s nice as the old edition to study from. BUT it has around 3X as many questions- so this is an improvement.

We had year two - But I needed to go back further, so Year one was the answer... Excellent teaching tool and revision, JC

pure Mathematics for A level Year 1
Great book with clear course content and excellent study material with good in-depth explanation of concepts. Ther are so many practices problem with solutions and it has all the course material one needs for the A level Year 1. Book is very well done and is comprehensive.

Presented Well
This edition is presented well, at the beginning of each chapter it summarises the learning objectives as well as listing a prior knowledge check that references previous editions like GCSE math's or previous chapters it also gives tips and the use of hi lighting and bold text is utilized. There are review exercises listed with relative marks at the end of each working chapter along with a summary of that said chapter, the answers are also at the end of the book. I prefer reading paper edition of books but a free online edition is also included with the product, really handy if you dont want to carry the heavy hard copy around or if you forget to take it. My son is about to go to 6th form and this is the book that they are currently using for A level Math at his school, a confidence booster when choosing this book.
