Libbey Moderno Glass Cereal Bowl in Clear, 12 piece set

We are very happy with these Libbey Crisa Moderno bowls. We purchased the Libbey Crisa Moderno dinner plates first, and a few weeks later we purchased the bowls. We had the entire Libbey Crisa Moderno set on our wishlist for a long time. We waited a while to get these, and we have not been disappointed with our purchase.This is such a pretty set of bowls. The modern bowls are deep and can fit large servings of food. The clear glass looks really nice with everything. I would even go so far as to say that our food, in general, looks more appetizing in these bowls.Just do not put them in the microwave. Neither the product page, nor the actual item that arrived at our house noted whether or not these were microwave safe. They did indicate that they were dishwasher safe, so we just assumed, like most bowls people buy, that these were microwave safe. Well, one day a libbey dinner plate exploded on me and got glass everywhere and I was cut. In short, DO NOT MICROWAVE this item. Amazon was going to look into the product page for safety purposes - and perhaps now the product page or item itself has been updated with this information.One thing about this item is that the stickers/labels on the bottom of each bowl have been difficult to remove. We still have not completely been able to remove the stickers, but they would probably come off with a cleaning product like Goo-be-gone. We just haven't taken the time to do that yet.The set comes with 12 bowls, which we are also very happy about. We never run out of clean bowls.I highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for clear dishes, or any new, modern looking bowls.

One of my recent purchases and I’m very pleased with them. Good glass with no air bubbles or imperfections. On arrival I noticed that a few of these nice bowls were broken and the items had little to no bubble wrapping or cardboard packaging for protection. As I was unpacking them one bowl turned into two bowls and two bowls into three………well you can just guess the rest. I did actually come out with 6 out of the 12 bowls that were useable. Now I’m not one for complaining but I would like to find out how you would properly package these items like this for future purchases. Glass is fragile and should be packaged right for safe travels. I love these bowls! They arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. I tend to use them as salad bowls or for fresh fruit side bowls for group dinners, since I'm a single person. But they're so versatile. Glass is very elegant for guest meals!

I ordered these bowls quite a while ago. First pack I received had broken bowls. Called Amazon got a replacement that was suppose to be free but I got charged for it & had to dispute it with Amazon. Second pack I received also had broken bowls as well but because it only had a couple broken bowls & they replaced it with a whole set I had enough to make a set. The bowls are very poor quality. They break super easily. Throughout the year bowls kept chipping around the rim which was very dangerous. Any little thing would chip it. I now have only 2 bowls left out of the whole set which I don’t use for eating anymore. I turned them into ashtrays. It’s not worth it & super dangerous to eat out of because you could chip the rim & glass will fall into your food without knowing. Even when you stack it in the cabinet it will leave small glass shards in the bowl or in your cabinet. Go check. They should not be selling these bowls they are very dangerous!!!!!!

I like these bowls. They are fairly heavy duty and go through the dishwasher well. The only things I didn’t appreciate were all the stickers I had to remove from each individual bowl (I used GooBeGone) and one of them was chipped upon opening the box. As annoying as those two things are, I’m likely to order another set.

Bowls & CatsMy vet does not think plastic bowls are good for cats. Cats, he says, can get contact dermatitis from plastic. So, we use human dining quality bowls for our furry masters. We have an elderly cat and I noticed his eyesight is not as sharp as it was. I decided, after visiting someone who fed and watered their even older cat with large glass bowls, to give it a try. Yup, the cats like the glass cereal bowls. So, now my cats use these glass bowls for dry food and lots of water. For wet food, they have assorted colorful FiestaWare fruit bowls. They do not appear to prefer one color over another so long as the bowl has fresh wet food in it. :-D**** Latest Update (2020) ****We have been using these bowls for cat water bowls since 2018. The cats can see the water level and they are wide at the top. We are fairly clumsy people and regularly break things. These have not broken yet but perhaps that is because the cats break fewer things than the humans in the house.Maybe we can train the cats to wash dishes and fewer dinner ware, glass ware, and coffee mugs would be chipped or broken. Despite the clumsy idiots we are, the cats still love us.
