Was a gift to my nephew. And he loves it.

We are only Day 8 of the calendar but I can say that the projects are mostly interesting. My son is 10 and he is enjoying them. I would say that the booklet that goes with the calendar is where the interest lies. Nice explanations on different scientific experiments and facts. The projects per se are only to discover or refresh concepts (one day you will only get a string, or a magnifier, etc), but you could go deeper if you wanted to.

My god this is awesome. Everything you need for daily experements even down to safety goggles. Each day there are 2-3 experiments each day. Only on day 6 and were loving it. Very suitable for all ages. Our 4 year old has been getting involved and carrying out the experiments. Definately a top buy advent calendar and you will be hard pressed to top this.

This is a brilliant idea, however the execution could be a little better. I found this while looking for an original advent calendar for our children as an alternative to the unhealthy chocolate ones or the calendars filled with cheap and useless toys (and I would include the expensive Lego calendars in the latter category). This calendar provides you with 24 experiments in the countdown to Christmas. Each day has a box with a different experiment that range from Biology and Mechanics to Chemistry. It comes with a fairly extensive, clear manual. Both our children aged 8 and 11 are intrigued by it. However some of the experiments are a little silly and the times included are generally a little flimsy, small pieces of card board, a magnets some plastic parts ect. Also when browsing through manual the surprise for the next few days will be lost. So while its a good alternative to many other calendars I actually found it very expensive - you may be better of buying a junior science experiment kit that will be more comprehensive and spectacular for the same price.

My kid loves it. He says it's the BEST advent calendar he's ever had. He loves the learning and doing a new experiment every day and the book that comes with it is great everyday of the year for kids to have fun with science. Makes a great gift. Totally recommend for any gender. Great fun for all, including parents.

My son doesn't like candy (I know right? who doesn't like candy?!), so every year picking an advent calendar for him is a challenge. We have done the Thomas the train one (when he was 3), we have done Paw Patrol toys, Disney ones, but at 6, he is no longer interested in little "toys" anymore, and due to Covid, I did not have the chance to collect things to make my own advent calendar for him, so even though this product says it's for 8 and older, I decided to give it a try. My husband usually does it with him so I think it's perfect even though he can't quite read the instructions yet or do it by himself. It's their bonding time together (yes, give mama a break! and honestly I think my husband really enjoys it). We are 14 days into it, and while some of the experiments are okay, some are really fun. Each box after you opened it can be flipped and put back into the box and at the end of the 24 days will turn the board turn into a board game. Obviously we're not quite there yet, but so far I am very pleased with the experiments included. Each day's kit take about 2-5 minutes to complete so it's not like those science kit that get a little overwhelming. I would recommend others to start looking into buying around October though, which is around the time we purchased it. Otherwise I see the price of these advent calendars skyrocket around November. It's ridiculous. Overall I would recommend this to any family with a kid who likes science experiments (and since most things we just throw away at the end there is no hording of little toys that will never get played with again).

We are at day 7. So much fun. All the family is involved. We look forward to the next morning. Highly recommend this.

I purchased this for my 11 yr old son. Honestly, when I showed it to him he was not excited at all. I had to prod him into opening the first day but after that he was hooked. He looks forward to each day's experiments. I do wish there was more of a quick explanation of what they were trying to teach. So if you desire your loved one to learn the concept of the experiments they must do it with someone that has minimal science experience (under thing like surface tension, chemical reactions, etc.). That being said the experiments are easy enough for my 11 yr old to figure out, just not the concept. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and thought the vault was excellent.
