I took a chance and purchased this using Amazon - Used but very good - option.The box it came in had obviously been opened and the kit looked at. Other than that everything is included and there is absolutely no sign of wear. I havent tried everything out in earnest yet but light works and everything fits together well. I have not tried the mic yet. I must have saved about £60 on the regular price. Great value.As to the smallrig cage, the only issue I have is that my phone power and volume buttons are more central on the side of the phone body. My phone still fits but has to sit off centre to leave the buttons free. This is something Smallrig might want to look at in future versions. Other than that great kit solid and yet very adaptable.

This kit is EXTREMELY stable and VERY well made, and its got a PREMIUM quality look and feel. Its VERY versatile and sturdy. I’ve got the iphone 14 pro max and it fits snug within the rig. The included microphone gives a good quality sound on your recording. The one light within the kit is very bright and lights up your subject well. I recommend this item to anyone who uses their phone to create videos/film.

We use this kit when filming vox pops and short IV's at trade shows. We use it with a Rode Go II set and attaching to the rig is super easy. It makes your mobile kit look a bit more substantial and is comfortable and easy to hold on longer interviews. It's light and easy to put together and overall a great little rig for zipping around a trade show floor with.

This is a great product overall. Robust and well made in a rather effete bag. What they do not tell us beginners is BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED. As they want a further £300 for a battery, this renders the whole kit as useless. They misadvertise this as a all in one video kit but that is false advertising.Also, the allen key supplied is way too small, making me think that the have shipped a second hand unit, and another reviewer has said about handle rattle. This is true but if you tighten firmly this seems to fix the issue somewhat, though it does seem to work loose quickly. However, instead of fixing their product, this company simply sells handles with two screws to extort more money. I am so disappointed and am sending this back.

The most important thing you need to know is that this rig is not compatible with iPhone. Not if you care about your audio.You will need to buy an audio to lightning adapter as the one provided doesn’t work with iPhones. And don’t think a cheap converter will do. They normally don’t work. One example is the adapter that comes with this set. Expect to spend anything from £15 to £30 on the top of the price.I contacted Small rig and they confirmed that their adapter doesn't work with iPhone.I have a zoom iq7 mic. It wouldn’t work with the adapter. My iPhone has a body armour which doesn’t allow direct connection with the zoom mic (but it does connnect with the use of an adapter) so I tried the zoom mic in another iPhone without the adapter and it worked. The mic provided also doesnt’ work with the adapter provided.I’ve decided to bite the bullet and will spend some extra money on a decent adapter.Apart from that serious problem I am very happy with this rig. I have a iPhone 12 pro with a bulky beasy body armour. The phone fits just fine. The light that comeswith the rig is pretty good. The rig does make for much smoother shooting whilst moving. It has lots of tools and useful accessories.The box is a beauty. Everything is nicely packed in two levels. Everything is easy to reach. It is a piece of cake to put the rig together. It’s all very intuitive. It reminds me of Apple products.I have other products from Smallrig and they are excellent . It’s a shame that this one has such a serious flaw. I even wondered if I should send it back and buy just their rig. But I would need to buy a tripod/light and would end up spending more money.I forgot to mention the tripod. It’s very good. It’s solid and bigger than it looks on the photo. it is really a useful tool of work for interviews, for example as it has a good height and you will be able to frame a person’s face if you put the tripod on a table, for example.One clear advantage of this set is that you will get almost everything you need in one box. The only caveat is that you will need to buy an adapter if you have iPhone.I think it’s still worth buying this rig. Just be aware that you will need to spend £15 to £30 on a audio to lightning converter. Small rig should warn customers about this. They didn’t so I am doing it here.P.S. Small Rig, after my complaint, added a note to the product details saying that their adapter is not compatible with iPhone or Samsung. It is really good that they did that so I've decided to change my review from three stars to four stars. I would prefer to give five stars but there is still the fact that the box, as it is , is not complete as you will need to buy an adapter seeing that their adapter doesn't work.A note on adapters. I ordered several adapters from Amazon. I found one adapter for the mic provided which works: JSAUX iPhone Headphone Jack Adapter . It's just £13.99.Unfortunately, I still didn't find an adapter for my Zoom iq7 mic . None of the cheap ones worked. I did find two (about £15 each) which work (I tested in another iPhone) but their plugs are too thick and don't fit with the Beasy waterproof case I have on my phone. I am still trying to find a solution and have just ordered an extender which does seem to have a plug compatible with waterproof cases.

Surprised it arrived in its own travel case neatly housed. Feels very solid and well engineered, certainly a quality feel to it and not some cheap nonsense.The light is very lightweight in feel, maybe a bit plasticky but it doesn’t upset the balance of the rig and it delivers enough light - so it does what it need to. It’s also variable so you can feather in enough light without burning out the subject and it’s slightly diffused too.Love the versatility of being able to put the handles in various places.Tripod is very sturdy and again well engineered.Overall 5* bit of kit, exceeded my expectations.

I was excited to receive this until I opened the box only to find the Allen key was to small to adjust anything. Good points is that It's really sturdy and has lots of features with it like a mic and light , shock mount stand handles and wind cover for the mic. Overall it's really good stuff , just wish the Allen keys would fit the bolts
