The bathroom fan doesn't run for hours anymore.
Timer was easy to install. We had a dual faceplate with separate paddle switches for the bathroom light and fan. I was able to install the timer using the existing faceplate since the timer fit in the space used by the paddle switch. it was a tight fit getting the timer into the electrical box but it worked. Now we don't have to remember to go back and turn off the fan, the timer does it for us.

Works Great!
This is the second time in 12 years heavy use that I've had to replace this clockwork timer switch. The original lasted 8 years; it's replacement's spring failed after 4 years. This unit fits as before BUT NOTE - The threaded shaft that holds the little faceplate is too short to engage the [nylon] retaining washer. So, I'm relying on the snug-fitting knob to keep things together. So far, so good, full function. PS - the ticking of the clockwork motor is much quieter in this switch than in the replacement unit I just replaced.

The Simplest, Most Reliable Upgrade You’ll Ever Give Your Bathroom! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you are tired of your bathroom fan running all day because someone forgot to flick the switch, or if you’re constantly battling mid-shower humidity, the BN-LINK 60-Minute Spring Wound Timer is the absolute hero of home hardware. Why this is a 5-Star Game Changer: The "Set and Forget" Magic: It’s so satisfying to just twist the dial to 15 or 30 minutes and walk away. No more guessing, no more wasted electricity, and the fan shuts off perfectly every single time. Old-School Reliability: Unlike digital timers that have confusing buttons or screens that eventually burn out, this mechanical spring-wound design is built like a tank. It has that classic "tick-tock" sound that lets you know it’s working, and it’ll probably outlast the house. The DIY Win (No Neutral Required): This is the best part. If you have an older home, you know the struggle of finding "neutral wires." This BN-LINK switch doesn't need one. I swapped my old toggle switch for this in under 10 minutes—it’s a direct replacement that anyone with a screwdriver can handle. Sleek & Clean Look: It comes with the wall plate and a nice, tactile knob. It looks professional and modern on the wall, fitting right in with the rest of my bathroom fixtures. Pro-Tip: If you’re using it for a high-moisture shower, set it for 20 minutes after you get out. It clears the steam perfectly and prevents that annoying mildew buildup on the ceiling. Final Verdict: This is a $15-20 fix that solves a $100 humidity problem. It’s quiet, durable, and dead-simple to install. If you have a bathroom fan, you need this switch. 10/10!

Works well on DC circuits also
My sister-in-law has used these for a while to operate 12V and 24V DC fans in her off-grid home, so I picked one up also to control a strangely-designed bathroom fan that runs low voltage DC (from an internal PSU) down its switch legs for lighting & fan control. That's a big compatibility problem timers that need 120VAC to run, but not for simple clockwork mechanical designs like this one. If you do use one on DC, as with any mechanical switch, to avoid a shortened service life, the contacts should be de-rated to account for DC arcs causing more wear (no zero-crossing to quickly cut them off). Anything up to 3A should be fine, maybe a little more. In my case, that weird fan combo only sends down a 5V control signal at a few mA, so there should be essentially zero electrical stress, only mechanical wear. Hopefully the mechanism will last a long time. Like others have mentioned, the in-wall portion is physically large and needs a lot of width and depth, and so may not fit into all boxes. It makes a tick-tock sound while counting down, like an old fashioned wind-up clock but faster. While it's not terribly loud, some might find the sound objectionable, especially in quieter settings, like the bathroom off a master bedroom where someone might be trying to sleep. If you manually turn off the load early by twisting the dial fully counterclockwise, power is cut off immediately, but the ticking can take another minute or so to stop.

Junk
I keep meaning to take this out of my bathroom and replace it. It is horrible and has never worked right. No matter how far you twist it the knob zips back to around 5 minutes and starts the timer from there. Except when it doesn't. Sometimes you twist the timer to 30 mins or whatver and it just sits there. This this is junk.

Working great over a year later
Over a year later and this timer still works perfectly. It is mounted on an outside wall in a junction box with cover, certainly not the best conditions but it never fails....not yet anyway. I use one for my RO system and one for a fountain on my patio. I have used others and rarely do they last longer than 6 months before sticking on. The dial on these remain firm and shut off consistently.

Perfect solution!
We were constantly leaving a light on in a storage room in our basement floor. We may leave for a week or two and have left it on.......this solution was a fix to a costly problem! My husband easily switched the normal light switch to this timer and it has worked very well for us!
