what is the difference between this model  and the 8556 /12 apart from price? This £399,8556 is £479??

Been watching these for a while, as I have an older model.

After scoouring through the tech specs on the Philips site, They're the same UHD and HDR etc.

However the 8556 has a QWERTY keyboard on the back of the remote, and can download its firmware in the background. The 8546 doesnt have these.

The 8556 is also £50 cheaper in today's Prime Day deals... you're welcome !)

Does this TV have all the usual apps for Iplayer, my5 and all4

Yes, it has the ability to download apps from Google’s App Store, but not the full normal selection the like you would find an Android phone though. So, that’s why I use a Amazon 4K Firestick with it instead. However, I use the Firestick because it’s far quicker in getting updates O/S updates for the Firestick than waiting on Philips to eventually coming out updates for their own TV’s own O/S software, plus the fact as I mentioned above a massive selection of available apps via Amazon’s own App Store that gets regular updates instead.

The TV’s own list of Apps via the limited Google Play Store selection is decent enough for anyone starting with the usual main  selection that you would want, and here’s the main ones I like;

BBC iplayer & BBC sounds 
ITV Hub player and and regional versions available like STV player, etc.
Amazon Prime Video
YouTube & YouTube music

CBS catchup
Pluto TV
Rakuten TV
Disney+
Tunein
Apple TV
Tv player

There is a few games available for download but you could count them with one hand, and therefore very limited like I mentioned above.

Philips TV Collection App Store  is there own personal selection for which you can choose from a very small mostly utterly crap selection of extremely cheaply designed looking apps, but there’s just a few in there that are worth it like Classic FM, Capital FM Smooth music apps. Like I said earlier I prefer to use my Amazon 4K Firestick because it matches the hardware output quality of this T’s capability because you don’t lag problems with apps and Amazon regularly maintains the stick O/S and app’s performance.

Like any Smart TV it will be loaded with its own default selection of apps, but after you’ve set it up for the 1st time and you get the use Freeview app by default, and general view of what’s on right or available across terrestrial TV and some apps being used within its main smart tv menu.

So, it’s up to you you want to plug in a Amazon 4K  Firestick or not, but I would highly recommend it, as it will perform far far better & more stable in the long run than using the same apps via the Philips TV due to sometimes their inbuilt hardware is not usually up to par or regularly maintained particularly the O/S of the TV compared to Firestick’s own O/S.

Does the 65" have a stand or legs?
Picture shows stand but Philips website says legs.
