This is an excellent medium four-hole cone filter. If you want to use a cone filter for a single cup, and want it to trickle through the grounds very slowly, then don't buy this one - get a small one-hole cone filter. I, however, like a slightly larger cone that can take either a #2 or #4 filter and can work with my travel mug. And I don't want to wait forever for it to finish draining 16 or 20 ounces. This will still make strong coffee - all depends on the amount and type of grounds you use and how you pour the water into it. But the four-hole makes it work fast, which I love.This is also good for traveling and staying at hotels that don't have coffee makers. I bring a small electric water heater, this cone, filters, and fresh ground coffee in my suitcase (doesn't take that much room), and I have fresh brewed coffee every morning on the road without having to leave the hotel room.

This coffee cone is larger than the standard #2 Melitta filter cone that I currently have. It works fine and the price is good but the top of a #2 filter is about a 1/2" from the top of the coffee filter cone. I am a little concerned that if I will pour in too much water into the grounds and filter that coffee grounds will overflow the coffee filter and go down the side of the cone giving me grounds in my coffee. However, it is well made, has a sturdy handle and is priced well. If it was a 25% smaller I would give it 5 stars.

Used to be you could find an individual cone filter holder everywhere. I just looked thru over 10 stores and the only filters I found were ceramic and cost well over $10. My mesh cone fits in it, my paper cones fit in it, it hangs with my mugs and I get encouraged to make a cup of tea now more often because I love my loose Chinese tea and it's a pain unless you have a streamlined way to make a quick cup. Living alone means coming up with easy ways to do little batches of food and drink. This is inexpensive, easy and works for me.

This cone coffee filter is definitely worth the purchase price! I like it because it’s somewhat bigger than the 2 cup cone I’d been using. It’s easier to grasp due to the nice handle. I’m thinking of buying another one for visitors.

I purchased this and an inexpensive package of 400 filters to avoid the stuff that comes out of the coffee machine at work. Delighted with the result. Some people don't like that this has four holes and drains quickly. I do, I don't have time to stand around. Slightly smaller might be better in a corporate setting.

This #4 cone, with heavy ribbing and four holes, did not make a strong cup of coffee. I tried a finer grind, but I still felt it was just coffee flavored brown water. I tried more fine grounds, and still I did not care for the results. So, stuck with this product, I did some experimenting. I plugged all the holes with nylon machine screws (and nuts). Then drilled a 1/8th inch hole between the two middle screws. With these modifications, it now makes a tolerable 16 oz cup of coffee.

The filter is fine - my only complaint is that it is substantially larger than it needs to be (the original Melitta #2 filter is perhaps 25% smaller). Ordinarily this would be irrelevant, but in my case, I plan to travel with it, so it will occupy more space in the suitcase than necessary. Not a grievous fault, and one I can live with, but nonetheless worth noting.

This is a great idea and a great product. Very cheap and easy to brew one cup in the morning, which is exactly what I needed! I got one for the office too, so I don't have to drink the stuff they have in the coffee bar. Great little product and I highly recommend any picky coffee drinkers to get one and enjoy!!

Great solution for us one-cup people. Quick brew and easy cleanup, especially with those mesh inserts that eliminate the need for paper filters.

We did not like 4 holes in the bottom. It would have been a functional coffee filter if there were fewer holes and if the holes were at the centre.
