Last longer, more accurate tunability and a tip for making old strings new again
If you are a veteran guitarist, you probably already know what I'm about to write. Elixirs may be the best guitar strings produced in the last 20 years. I would not be surprised if a number of other string manufacturers have copied Elixir's techniques, resulting in a number of companies who now compete with Elixir. I used to use Martin strings about 25 years ago, relying simply on the name "Martin," and they were very good, but when I started using Elixirs around 1998, I noticed a difference in two significant ways: (1) they last longer; I have a number of guitars, so using strings that last a long time amounts to considerable cost savings; also even if I had only one guitar, I would still appreciate that these string lasted, perhaps, twice as long as the old Martins. The second significant reason that I use these is that as they age they are easier to attain the right pitch when tuning them. For example, old strings become hard to tune: they go from slightly flat to sharp with just a micro adjustment on the peg and skip over correct tuning. I've notice Elixirs retain their fine tuning ability longer, which is probably just another way of saying they last longer as I pointed out in my first point. One other point: given the high price of strings, I have resurrected a practice that I used to use in my salad days in the seventies. When strings lose their easy tunability, I blanch them for three minutes in water with a splash of vinegar. They'll last another month that way. It's an old Delta blues technique.

Very fast service.
And Harmon Music even threw a string winder in with the package.

I mean, they're elixers.
Of course they cost a little more than most strings, but since they stay bright a lot longer than the others, they save you money. With half an hour minimum a day and 1 or 2 three hour shows a week, my elixirs usually last 3 months.

More than 1 quantity Shipped separately but great strings
Love the strings but why ship two packs separately? Kinda of a pain in the rear since my country has high freight and duty taxes.

Dropping jaws with minimal flaws.
Definitely worth the price. Simply the best strings around. They hold their tone and most importantly tuning over extended periods of time. I used to have to worry about having an back up guitar in stage in case my intense shredding would lead do snapping. But with weapons in my arsenal, I can focus on dropping jaws with minimal flaws.

Great tone!
I keep my strings for at least six to eight months and the tone and sounds are still excellent. I have a Takamanine made in Japan high end acoustic guitar and Taylor 414 CE Grand Auditorium acoustic guitar.
