Hip & Joint Soft Chew (Bag) 120 ct

We have a 15 year old Border Collie, and last year we were certain she didn't have much time left. She couldn't make it up and down stairs, she seemed depressed, no bouncing or playing, and worst of all she couldn't herd our cats anymore. We tried several vitamins, hip and joint supplements, and some showed some improvement. Then we got these. 1) She loves the taste. It's been well over 6 months and she still looks forward to them, 2) She can run and jump, play, herd the cats, she still doesn't like stairs - but she can go up and down them, 3) They are actually soft (many "soft chews" are like last years Double Bubble gum) these are so soft they will break if you pinch them. There is no denying that she is getting older, but we no longer worry that she won't be there when we get home. We give her 4 every morning. I only have one complaint: with the softness of the chews they crumble in the bag. We have bought some at Petco and they seem to hold up better. When we get down to crumbs we give her 2 chews and 2 teaspoons of the crumbs on her regular food. Not a huge deal, but I would prefer it if they were just slightly more solid and didn't break apart quite so easily.

This stuff helps my dog who was born with only one hip. She's able to jump, run etc. It's helps. It's not a cure but it sure makes a difference.

This is a wonderful product for my dogs. However, it arrived crushed up into tiny pieces and powder.

So as you can see from the headline,I am not using these for the intended purpose. About three years ago my vet recommended I supplement my urinary tract cat food with these pills. He said that the glucosamine blend has shown to have a prophylactic side effect of aiding in the prevention of urethra blockages. The food alone was not doing the trick...every winter at least one of my male cats would have a life threatening blockage. Since we have started using these-no blockages. No trips to the animal ER on a Sunday. Couldn't be happier about that. I have recommended the same thing to a friend with a male cat and he too has been happy with the results. Do the cats like the taste of these and take them freely? ....No. I have to crush them and mix them into their wet food portion every morning. It's well worth the extra effort to keep them healthy.

My 16 yr old yellow lab has always been a super energetic, sparky dog even in his old age, but out of nowhere last week he started having MAJOR problems standing up, walking, getting up on his bed on my back porch, going up & down the stairs, etc. I was freaking out! I found these on a Google search & based off other great reviews I decided to get them & hope for the best. Well he's been taking them for 4-5 days & OMG the improvement I saw from him after only 2-3 days was INSANE! He's back to running around, going on walks, he gets up & down the stairs like he used to, playing fetch, & he can jump up on his bed with ease. I'm seriously so shocked at how well these have worked & so quickly!! I was in tears last week thinking it might be my last days with him, but thanks to these chews I know I have more time with him & he's back to his peppy self!!!! I'm DEFINITELY going to stay giving him these for the rest of his life!!

Helps my pet a vet approve

Most reviews of glucosamine products talk about how much dogs love them -- and most are written by people who have recently started using them. I have two dogs and I have tried seven different products. So learn from my experience: Dogs like anything new. So you act like you are giving them a treat but pretty soon they don't want it anymore. You have to cajole them and later get stern, and they are looking at you with cocked heads as if to say, "If it is a treat, why do you care if I eat it?" And you feel like a heel for having deceived them. So instead: 1) When you first start with any glucosamine product, give it to your dog while saying "Take your pill" in the same brook-no-nonsense voice you would use for "Sit." Give your dog a treat after he eats it. 2) About two weeks later, order a second glucosamine product and offer your dog a choice of the two while still saying "Take your pill." Continue to give a treat. 3) About two weeks later, your dog might start showing a preference for one type over the other. Use the last of the disfavored brand and order a different brand. 4) Keep doing this until your dog is choosing between the two brands equally.

My dog seem to be doing very well with these chews. He doesn’t need any coaxing to eat it and less hip issues I noticed. Happy with this product.

I like that it helps my dog and pretty quick to reorder.
