What screws do you use with this tool ???? The bit don’t fit the screws that came with the Trek decking

The ProPlug tool is part of a system designed to work together. The system consists of the tool, screws and plugs cut from Trex Decking. You may purchase the tool and plugs as a unit and the screws separatey, in either stainless steel or epoxy coated steel. ProPlug also offers a package with screws and plugs if you already have the tool. Online Construction Products offers a combo kit with all 3 components, plugs, tool and screws.

Does this tool cut the opening in the pvc or is that done by driving in the screw? i am concerned with clean cuts.

So I was very unhappy with this tool. Was not worth the money. The bit end stripped out and was useless. We just used the bits that came with the screws and pre drilled. Don't waste your money.

what is the size of the plug to make my own plugs?

I can't say with sufficient precision, somewhere around 1/4" or so. However before you try making your own, you should know that the plugs that you buy are also tapered at the end, and possibly even tapered a tiny bit on the body. For all the time it would take to make your own plugs you could just buy some. The ones you buy fit perfectly and look great.
