As you mention this box does have a few design flaws and as a result we are going to discontinue the product and get a new one all together. I'm in the process of sourcing that now and would be happy to provide a discount on that once it is launched.The best thing I can suggest is to return the product to amazon and re-order a replacement and use the $5 code that was in the original package on your next order.Thanks,AjayREVISED REVIEW:After using the latch is coming apart. My 4 year old has been using for two months and latch is failing apart. I need to find another. There is a flaw in the latch design. There are two pins and when they become mis-aligned rotating the lid open causes the plastic latch to crack. A better design would be one pin. (see images). I emailed OpenAir Traders. Maybe they will send me a replacement to test.INITIAL REVIEW:I ordered three from Amazon. (1) for my 4 year old son (2) for my wife (3) for myself. I am glad I did. Two were damaged by shipping. The inside plastic was cracked, which I attribute to Amazon packaging. I contacted OpenAir Traders via email and they were appreciative of the feedback.Otherwise, for my 4 year old son I love and it and he also loves it. It is an easy way to pack his lunch. As a parent I like the challenge of packing a variety lunch for him. We have been completely satisfied with the purchase. It is a lot smaller than his previous lunch box, and fits conveniently in his back pack. I hope it holds up to the 4 year old abuse considering the other two arrived damaged. Time will tell.

I was being a lazy mom and did not want to make lunches for my children to take to school. I didn't want to hassle with the containers and lids. A few reasons I went with this product versus others is: good price point and it was taller/thicker than most containers. My kids were over the moon excited to help make their lunches. Having the compartments helps my kids know they need a fruit and veggie and the smallest compartment is perfect for ranch or to put in a treat. I also have been using it to pack snacks for outings, it comes in so handy! Again, I don't need separate containers. This is an all in one lunch box container that is very simple and super handy!

I love my Bento boxes! I purchased two for my pre-schoolers and they work great! I can provide a variety of options for them at lunch and they have quick access to their food without the hassle of opening sandwich/snack bags. The boxes close nice and tight without the worry of spills and they are easy to clean! I definitely recommend this product as well as this company (OpenAir Traders). They were quick to resolve an issue with a cracked box (shipping error) and they replaced it immediately without any extra work from me! I'm a very satisfied customer.

I initially loved it, but after using for only two weeks, the plastic seems to be peeling in one of the tray compartments. It is like a plastic film is coming up. I no longer feel safe packing my child’s lunch in it. Very disappointed, because this initially worked week for weekly lunches.

I absolutely love this box! I take it to work all the time. It helps me control portions and also makes it so much easier than taking 50 different tupperware containers.

Great concept but I purchased two of these bento boxes for my children. One of latches broke in less than 1 week and the other one both the case and inner tray cracked after 2-3 weeks. The seller was responsive but these are just not suited for long term use. These were also packed in padded lunch box cases so they were well protected.

I ordered 4 of these lunch boxes for my grandchildren. They love them. They are the perfect size for lunchtime portions. The largest compartment easily fits a normal size sandwich. No more baggies to deal with, making their lunch preparation and time to eat much easier. The product is great. I highly recommend it.
