SAFAVIEH Non Slip Anti Skid Grippy Stay in place Rug Pad Under Carpet, Stable on all Hard Floors (8' x 10')

The product immediately smelled strange...I thought it would air out so I decided to try and use it. I put it on on my floor and realized that it was too big for my 8x10 safavieh rug...weird that it’s from the same company but the measurement was off. I tried to cut it and make it the same length as my rug. I had it on for about and hour but the smell was still lingering!!!!!! Then I noticed.... it has a sticker on the outside of it saying “This product can expose you to chemicals including DEHP, which is known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects and other reproductive harm.” WHAT?????? As soon as I saw the sticker I took out the rug pad from under the rug and immediately put it in a box to be returned. Never again.

I ordered the 8x10 to go with the same brand rug that was 8x10.Normally these pads are smaller than the actual rug. This one is bigger. That means folding it back or cutting it.This is also thinner than any other rug pad I've ever had. I'm not looking for added padding for one of these. It is mostly just to keep the rug in place. The thinness tells me this is poorer quality than most.Third, it's not exactly a rectangle. When cutting this down to size, you need to find a good rectangle in the middle and cut it. you can't just take an inch from each side.Buy a different one.

I must admit I was swayed by the price, but I should have read the reviews. I had the thing in the living room for 15 minutes and it made my teeth hurt. I tossed it out onto the driveway for the overnight but the headache lasted all night and I just wrapped the thing back up, and I am sending it back.It may be fine for the job but I'll never know and I have read the other comments about damages to wood floors and this scares me since I just spent a small fortune to get them all refinished and they look phenom.

Bought this for my home. If you can get past the initial chemical odor, assuming it goes away eventually, then this seems to serve well and as expected. I could not get past it and, with consideration for my pets as well as myself, I packaged it for immediate return. I believe the manufacturer gave a heads up to the issue, so no fault there.

Keeps my rug in place (8 x 10) and I am thinking about buying one for my runner in kitchen. My dog runs to the patio door to be let out and slides right into the door once he hits that rug. He runs around the bigger one in dining room and never messes it up. So maybe I will buy one to keep him from sliding in the kitchen. Comfortable pad too!

Bought this for an oriental rug. The padding is true to size. It is not meant to give added cushioning, but rather to grip the carpet and hardwood floor. It does this great. Carpet is on slick hardwood and does not budge or bunch up.

This “pad” is not very padded. It is low end of scale. Probably would be ok for small rug but skip for larger area rugs. (8x10)

Holds a rug in place. But provides no padding or support for a rug. Your rug will last longer with a thick foam pad. But those are expensive
