Great movie!!

I do enjoy a good thrill ride as well as good story. This outing of Final Destination stands out with its gorgeous leads, worthy of any casting from a CW/WB TV series. A nice story that develops a bit more than the previous Final Destination. I have yet to watch the original but I do like this movie. Actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a wonderful actress with the right material but most of the other actors are pretty weak. Plus, as referenced in a special feature included in this DVD, a typical representation of cheesy horror cliches.A High School Senior Party at an amusement park turns into a horrible vision for Mary Elizabeth Winstead's character that only partially becomes realized as she realizes that after a previous event (Final Destination) that a catastrophe like that must claim all that were intended to die. But what makes this story cool is that not only does it incorporate the similar attempt to avoid destiny but uses an interesting motif.Also, is this special edition DVD includes a Choose Your Fate mode that allows you to change events from the original theatrical release. This is better than deleted scenes or alternate endings, which is this, but it actually gives the viewer the choice. I like how I have the two girls are electrocuted instead of fried, or how I can spare the funny guy. Or have the jock die without being seen as a jerk.I originally gave the movie a B-, but for this DVD an A for such a clever feature. I only wish the Blu-Ray could be like this.

FINAL DESTINATION 3 is the film in this series where the premise started to loose a little of its spark. The first two were held together by characters strong enough to care about and that is lacking here. It is the expected killings that hold this film together and luckily they are still fun and inventive. The blu ray transfer is the strongest of the three. Video is vivid and clear with colors that pop. Skin tones are realistic and black/white ratioo is excellent. The clarity is also excellent which makes the killings that much more impactful. And the DolbyTrue HD audio track is amazing. Dialogue is strong and present throughout but the suspense, mood and kills take on new life with this superb audio presentation. You will be jumping out of your skin as all speakers are put to strong use.The opening scenes are the most important in each FINAL DESTINATION film and here we have a roller coaster accident. That scene is the best of the film and the blu ray video and audio makes it a sight to behold. After that the story and acting in particular strongly loose steam. But the kills are still inventive and creepy, strongly enhanced by the blu ray. I give this blu ray 4 stars for the back of the case says this is the CHOOSE THEIR FATE version, the same as the dvd and that is not here. That is sad for the deaths are the only things that keep this film ticking along. It would have been such an added bonus. If you are a completist as me you will want all the FINAL DESTINATION films. Just remember that the caliber for this film is far below the previous two. But if you want the chills and thrills of the kills you will enjoy this and the blu ray presentation does enhance it all with superb video and audio.
