The Art of Problem Solving books are amazing. Hard to find better Algebra books. I would say the best is that you won't be able to continue through the book unless you mastered previous chapters. No illusion of learning here.

I've gone thru several algebra books this past year looking to "brush up" and none have proven satisfactory. This book - there are two - the workbook and the solutions, you have to buy them separately - is not really an introduction to algebra. It explains NOTHING. It introduces concepts without explaining first what it is. On page 33 they introduce a/b but previous to this they didn't explain what "/" meant. They introduce a<b and a>b but didn't bother to explain what these arrows mean. If I hadn't remembered them from algebra class 20 years ago I'd have been lost. The Index is useless. On the PLUS side, they actually give the solutions to problems, not just the answers, which most other books I've looked at do. But it's a pain in the butt. I would not recommend this for anyone brand new to algebra. The cost is outrageous.
