DEWALT Dust Collection Adapter for Plunge Base Routers, Compact Router (DNP616), Clear

Must have for inlay work

Installed on my 611 Dewalt plunge router, easy installation, easy to hook up to dust collection with a tight fit and very stable on the unit. The design is well thought out and stable with no movement at all. Dust collection is great as there is little to no mess left on the work piece. Definitely recommended to have on your compact plunge router set up.

I’ve been doing small router project inside and spending a lot of time cleaning up. Not now. Attached this to my Dewalt plunge base and used a Rockler powerport tool hose, and attached it to my large shop vac. When I turned the vac on the suction was so powerful it moved the router. Keep my sight lines free of debris. Great attachment. No issues with any debris getting caught anywhere.

I reviewed a similar version of this for my trim router and the same comments apply - well built, works well when the bottom of the router is covered (eg dado cuts), but not so good for edge trimming as most routers throw the dust and chips down.

This fit my Dewalt DNP612 Trim Router Plunge Base like a glove. I can't ask for a better snug fit than this. My CenTec shopvac hose adaptor fits it snugly also. Dust collection is awesome.

I bought this not knowing whether it would fit the plunge base I have for my DeWalt compact cordless router. The info for this product says it fits DNP611. I have DNP612. I just installed it, and it fits perfectly. I haven't used it yet, but I am assuming that edge profiling will still be dusty, as this appears to be designed for routing mortises, dados, etc.

I was hesitant to get his because I was unsure of the fit, after seeing others stating and showing photos of this fitting their compact plunge base. I was happy to see that it fits perfectly. It has a lower chamber that came come apart incase anything clogs up the port that attaches to the vacuum. The other concern I had was the clearance by the plunge lever. There is plenty of clearance, even with the vacuum hose attached. This adapter works with the standard shop vac hoses, 1-1/4

When I bought my DeWalt DWP611PK router (which I love), I didn't order any of the accessories for it. But, after such positive experiences with the router itself, I decided to give the accessories a shot as well. DeWalt offers four accessories for the DWP611PK ... edge guides for both the fixed base and plunge base, as well as dust collection adapters for both. I haven't had enough opportunity to use the edge guides (DNP618 for the fixed base, DW6913 for the plunge base) to give them a fair review, but I have had enough use of the dust collection accessories to comment on them. I have never been very impressed with dust collection accessories for hand-held routers ... dust collection attachments for my other routers were clumsy to use, obstructed the view of the work surface, required tools to attach/detach, and generally resulted in quite a bit of dust and debris in the air and around the work area. By contrast, these both do a superb job. They are easy to attach/detach (using easy to manage thumb screws), take standard 1.25" hoses, and are clear plastic so they don't obstruct your view. And they do a terrific job of removing debris from the surface you are routing without cluttering the work area. I did a bunch of template routing last week (routing tracks for tambours on some cabinets I am building for holiday gifts) with the plunge base. The DNP616 fully encloses the area around the bit inside the plunge base, and despite plowing through a bunch of hard maple, no dust made it to the bench and the work surface remained clear. I had a similar experience with the DNP615 in the fixed base routing rabbets inside a door frame. The dust collection attachment essentially turns the router base into a closed chamber so there is virtually no place for dust to escape. A great quality product that works very well.

Like many things you buy something based on what you see and hear and many times its just not like that . However with this dust collector it is just like that! it works great! highly recommend, it keeps the work area clean and you are able to see what you are doing, really takes away sawdust and bits of wood flying around. Glad I made the purchase.

Fits my dewalt plunge base perfectly. Sucks 95 % of dust. Easy on, easy off

This fits the DeWalt small plunge router base perfectly. Takes only a few seconds to install and once connected to a vacuum it does a good job of dust collection.
