is this the same EDTA that people move to detox from heavy metals in the body?

The EDTA that I take for heavy metal detox is called Calcium Disodium EDTA capsules by Arizona Natural that I ordered from Amazon. I don’t know about the tetra sodium product. I bought it for my clothes. You will need to research it more.

How much of this product do you use in a pool?

The amount needed will depend on your pool volume and water chemistry. This includes water pH and concentrations of ions including those of Calcium, Magnesium, Manganese, Copper and Iron. It also depends on your sanitation method. Chlorine and Bromine both degrade EDTA. Salt water pools are different again. In general I suggest that you schedule a week when the pool will not be used, then turn off chlorinator, and add EDTA in small amounts (predissolve in water). Circulate the water for a day with chlorinator off and observe result. You may need to repeat the treatment. Then do a water change to remove sequestered metal ions and free EDTA.
