Elena Avalor - Ready To Rule

My little lady loves Princess Elena and this dvd is exactly what it is. The show is well made too.

Now that Elena is on the throne, is she ready to rule? This follow up to her victory over Queen Shuriki tells by story and song how the young Princess learns that she has a lot to learn! There are several other fun tales told in this DVD with lessons for us all to learn from. These stories are all about courage, following your heart and your dreams and to value your family.

I love that Disney has taken the romantic relationships out of the stories, and has given girls strong, independent role models to look up to. Disney's Moana, Frozen, and Brave are similar. I hope they continue this into their Marvel series, so girls have superheroes in addition to princesses. Elena of Avalor tells great stories of leadership, sisterhood, and family within a magical kingdom setting. I hope they turn this into a feature film in addition to a television show.

My daughter is a Elena of Avalor and so when I saw that they released a DVD, I knew it was a must buy. There are a few episodes on the DVD, with the most important probably being the one that goes into her backstory. If you have a Sophia the First fan in your household, Elena ties into that series. A definite must own for the little fan in your home.

Animation has come such a long way from what I grew up with. When I think about the cartoons that I grew up was "stone age" compared to the "Mona Lisa" animation that is done today. Anyone familiar with animation knows that cartoons from the 1930's were all drawn and painted byhand, today's more modern animation is all created by computer.Elena is the newest creation to be presented to the younger generation. She is a young ruler, learning how to deal with not only her kingdom, but also the people of her kingdom. The stories are well written, and made up of interesting plots.

What a delightful video which is actually 4 episodes and not one full length movie - "First Day Of Rule", "Model Sister", "All Heated Up", and "Island Of Youth" I bought this for my youngest grand daughter and what I liked best about this DVD is that each episode teaches a little life lesson. It's nice to see Disney put something like this together for younger children.

My daughters just love Elena. And I love a strong female lead, that isn’t being saved by a prince! She is a problem solver, a kind hearted person, brave and a leader. Great role model for kids, just like Sophia the First, Frozen and Moana.
