So glad I decided on buying this as I considered lots of options for a 5 year journal. From pictures it looked like it might have extra text on the cover but it does not. Very simple, minimalist and I love the red with gold embossing. The journal has a page for the start of the year prologue. Each month is marked by a page with a different drawing of a door, and a different edge drawing that allows you to find each month easily. I am able to write a couple sentences per day with the 5 lines available. At the end of April, June and September there is an extra empty lined page to give a bit more room to capture thoughts and so the monthly starting page is always on the right. Perfect placement for extra thoughts around the change of seasons, at mid year and 3rd quarter. There is a yearly epilogue page at the end as well. I use pencil for my journal, not sure on bleed through with ink.

I bought this for my wife because my brother bought me one and I loved it. It is designed with a lot of care. We both use ours everyday. It perfect when you don't have a ton of time to write, but you still want to capture life. So far it's been plenty durable, and it feels like it with hold up for years to come. I really like the case that is comes with, I can store it vertically on my side table.

This is a lovely way to end my day. I write the highlights of the day, and sometimes the low points! The size is just right for my nightstand, and to tuck into my carryon when I travel. The paper is smooth and just the right weight.

I bought this because I’m trying to be more intentional about reflection instead of letting years blur together. The journal itself is really well developed and feels like something meant to last. The paper quality is excellent. I use acid-free archival pens, and the writing experience is one of my favorite parts. The pages have just enough texture to feel premium without feathering or bleeding. The binding feels solid, and the included book sleeve is a nice touch for protecting it over five years of use. If you’re new to multi-year diaries, it’s not immediately clear how to use those sections or how to structure entries over time. A one-page insert with ideas or examples would have helped me get started with more confidence. Overall Even without instructions, this is a beautifully made journal that makes me want to slow down and write. The feel in hand, the paper quality, and the long-term concept all come together really well.

This was a gift for my husband. I also have a Midori 5 Year Diary but with the embroidered cover. This makes journaling so approachable with the limited line space. You don't have a daunting empty page staring you in the face. You can just focus on the quick 'n dirty version of your day. It's a great place to include daily gratitude, intentions, and highlights. It's fun to be able to reflect what you were doing on that same day in years past. I love this as a gift for yourself or loved ones as a tool to build desired habits and rituals.

This Midori 5 Year Diary came exactly as described and I love that I could start it on any day. I chose to begin it in the middle of the year and just made a note that it was my first entry since I didn’t want to wait until January to use it. The paper is very nice and doesn’t bleed through. It is cream colored and gentle on the eyes. I am keeping mine in the exterior cover that came with it because the diary itself has a fabric cover and I don’t want it to get dirty over time. Overall it is a great value for the money and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a dirt such as this.

I am in love with this journal. The hardcover is so elegant and classy. I love how the velvety feel makes it look so premium. The fact that Midori paper is perfect for journaling with fountain pens is the best !! Also I love how simple and easy it's to fill the pages. Definitely a must buy for all Midori plans and to try out the 5 year process .

This Midori 5-Year Journal is an elegant and classy way to capture your daily events and highlights. It comes in a lovely hard cardboard sleeve. The hard cover has a fabric covering with gold embossing. The pages are high quality with an off white, almost vintage colour. The lines and art printed onto the paper has a hand-drawn look to them, giving this journal a lot of character. My gel worked great with this paper but will need to dry else the ink the transfer to other page when closed. Not a problem with this journal but with the pen ink I'm using.
